Heilbronn, Germany

I was hoping that someone else was collecting the information. It would have been nice to find out where the others that I served with are. So for now I’ll be doing it. Below is a list of everyone that has responded. If you would like to make any corrections or addition to the information or add a note to your name just send it to me at james@blankenshipweb.com .

“             I was a member of the 23rd Ord Co. DS/SP. I was in the unit in Oct.75 till June 77 when it deactvated and merged with 525th Ord Co in Sieglesbach. I saw your notice in the Legion magazine and was curious. You do not see many notices in the magazine for Special weapons units so when I saw a unit advertised that I had been assigned to, I thought I better write and see what it was all about.
If I can help with any information I will try to do my best. I have contact with people who were also assigned there, some most who were before me and even some who were in the unit when it activated. You did not mention when you were assigned there or even if you were.
I wait to hear from you and and like I said will help where I can. “

“             My name is Matt O'Keeffe and I saw your notice in the July issue of the American Legion Magazine. I was assigned to the 23rd Ordnance Company from Sept '59 to Apr '62. At the time we were part of the 101st Ord Battalion. From your listing is seems like the @3rd was part of the 57th Ord Bde. When did that happen? We were located in Barnerhof Kaserne.”

Looking forward to hearing from you.
