“Robert Blenkinsop, of Blenkinsop. Gent., in 1683, had the demesne and manor of Bellister settled upon him and his issue, on his marriage. By articles between his father and Richard Whitheld, of Kingswood.  He sod the manor and lordship of Bellister, wht the broom-houses, to William Ramsay, the elder, of Newcastle, esq for {pound sign} 7.11, 4 June, 1697; and, 11 Nov., in the same year, for {pound sign} 950, conveyed his capital message and demesne lands of Bellister and Bellister Park, and all mines and minerals therein to John Hiteon, of Styward.esq. This Robert is described as of Broom-houses in deeds of 1669, and of Haydon-bridge, 15 march, 5 Anne, 1706.
