https://obits.gazette.com/obituaries/gazette/obituary.aspx?n=barbara-henfner-walton-blankinship&pid=198524506

Barbara Henfner Walton Blankinship, 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died of COVID-19 complications on April 25, 2021. She was surrounded by family. Barbara was born August 24, 1941, in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of George (a geophysicist) and Hilda (an artist) Walton.

Her early years, she lived in countries all over the world, attending a new school every year. In 1959, she graduated from Fox Lane High school in Bedford, New York. In 1963, she graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, with a degree in English. She was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Barbara's life was one of service. From her work with Amigos International in 1967 to eradicate polio in Guatemala to the years she devoted to her family and community, she was a nurturer to everyone she met. She mentored many and led Bible studies with her husband in their home. She believed in service to the community with the same unconditional faith she believed in Jesus Christ. If you met her, she'd make you feel like you were her most important child, friend or mentee, because of her sense of compassion and care.

In the early 1960s, while she was working as an administrative assistant at Texas Children's Hospital, Barbara met the love of her life in pediatrician Dr. Garland Richard Blankinship. They were married in Houston, Texas, on February 2, 1968, and shortly thereafter moved to Colorado Springs. In 1987, Richard opened the Colorado Children's Clinic, and Barbara assisted him as the office administrator. They both worked there until their retirement in 1997.

Barbara was a devoted and active 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs. She was one of the first female elders of the church. She was involved with many groups at the church, including Mothers of Preschoolers, Get-Set Preschool, Branches Women's Bible Study, Bridges, and many more.

Barbara's volunteer work did not stop at church. She volunteered with the Junior League of Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and James Madison Elementary School (most notably as a Book Karate volunteer and co-coach of the soccer team), among others.

She loved the outdoors. She was an avid tennis player at the Colorado Springs Racquet Club, runner, cyclist/spinner, and skier throughout her life.

In 2011, Barbara suffered the effects of a debilitating stroke but maintained a resilient hope that inspired many. While living with her disability, she was able to memorize scripture and develop close relationships with many she met.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Garland Richard Blankinship and her parents.

She is survived by her four children, David (Kristin), Sarah (Jonathan Bergeron), Christina (Marvin) Harrell, and Julia (Doug) Smith; seven grandchildren, Cleo, Jonathan and Sarah Blankinship, Jack and Audrey Harrell, and Sophie and Jacob Bergeron. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Martha Walton and two nephews Daniel (Anna) and Richard (Dana) and their children.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, once we can safely gather. Memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's name to First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

+2021, New Port Richey, Pasco Co., FL, Obituary

 https://www.mountsfuneralhome.com/obituary/Kayleena-Lounsbury

Kayleena Danielle Blankenship Lounsbury departed her mortal life on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, [Pinellas Co.,] FL. Born November 7, 1993 in Logan, WV, she made her presence known for 27 short years by her infectious personality, boisterous laugh, and giant smile that would light up a room.

If you were one of the many people that Kayleena loved, you often had no doubt as to the extent of her feelings. She loved fiercely and stopped at nothing to make sure those in her life knew. From the students she taught, to the people she met in each stage of her life, love was in abundance.

She knew from an early age that she was destined to be a teacher. She dedicated herself to pursuing higher education to advance her students, in recent years, completing a Master’s in Education—Reading Specialist from Concord University and was working toward a Doctorate of Education from Grand Canyon University. Several excellent mentors set her on a path for her life’s work. She spent eight and a half years in classrooms at Iaeger Elementary School in McDowell County, WV, and Calusa Elementary School and Cypress Elementary School in New Port Richey, FL. In each of those classrooms, Kayleena let her love and passion for education and writing shine. The minds she molded will go on to change the world. She lived her life as an educator following the same motto: “Be diligent in believing that what we do in the classroom could possibly echo for a lifetime in the heart of a student.” We will continue to see those echoes for many generations to come.

She loved to teach her students to write because she was a born writer. From an early age, she kept notebooks and journals full of her writing—her thoughts, poems, short stories, plans and dreams—all tucked away in the pages of her books. She loved the beach, and after moving to Florida, could often be found there, tanning, and maybe watching for dolphins. She was also madly in love with her husband, Cooper. In the few short years that she knew him, their love for each other was obvious to anyone around them. She was at home with him wherever they were. Their love produced a beautiful baby, Macie Lynell—a perfect baby, who followed her mother to their Heavenly home. Her greatest goal was to become a mother and she saw that come to fruition in Macie. Even before her birth, Kayleena was a wonderful mother to her daughter. She lived her life to the fullest and was so incredibly happy.

Like the love she gave, Kayleena was loved by so many in return.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Everette Monroe and Melva Mounts Tiller, her maternal aunts, Belinda “Jeannie” Angle, and Jowana Kennedy, and her paternal grandmother, Evelyn Blankenship, and her loving cousin, Tyler Hatfield.

In addition to those lucky enough to call her friend, those left to grieve her passing include her beloved husband, Cooper Lounsbury, of New Port Richey, FL; her parents, Audie and Stephanie Blankenship of Hanover, WV; her sisters, Melva Brianna Blankenship of Hanover, Ashlee (Jarrett) Cline of Wharncliffe, WV; two amazing nieces, Reagan Kinlee Davis and Kaybrie Reece Cline, both of Wharncliffe; her paternal grandfather, Homer Blankenship, of Browning Fork, WV; her loving in-laws, Glenn and Robyn Lounsbury of Castleton-on-Hudson, NY; her sisters-in-law, Sarah Lounsbury and Kaitlyn Lounsbury, of Castleton-on-Hudson, NY; and a host of special friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastor Katie Endicott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Justice, WV.  Kayleena and her daughter Macie will be carried to their resting place by pallbearers: Matthew Huffman, Bradley Blankenship, Brandon Blankenship, Aaron Wilson, Blake Lockhart, Trey Lockhart, Robby Newberry, Ashton Cline, and Jarrett Cline.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Kaiden Baker.

Frances Elaine Blankenship, loving mother of six, went to be with her Lord while at home surrounded by loved ones. On Thursday, April 8 2021. She was born October 15, 1942 in Springfield Ohio.

Elaine was raised in Smyrna, GA by her father and mother Albert and Dee Morgan. Elaine raised six children that absolutely love and admire her. https://www.lindfamilyfh.com/obituary/JenniferJen-Blankenship

Jennifer Ann Blankenship, 48, of Alexandria, MN, passed away unexpectedly due to unknown causes on April 7, 2021, while vacationing with her husband and two of her children in Florida. She was born on September 20, 1972, to William and Alison Malyon of Glenwood, and was the oldest of four children.

Jen attended Glenwood High School and went on to the University of Minnesota Crookston. She and her husband, Todd Blankenship, married on August 23, 1997, and raised four sons in Alexandria.

With a radiant smile and bright blue eyes, Jen lit up any room she entered. Her God-given gifts of warmth and hospitality were shared with all those around her. Friends and family also knew Jen as a very creative individual — from her culinary skills to fashion and home decorating. Jen was known for her delectable green bean and sweet potato casseroles, southwest pinwheels, pickle wraps, and salads. Her husband and boys also enjoyed an annual surf & turf Valentine’s dinner. In her 25 years at Herbergers as a Visual Manager, Jen put her artistic talents to work selecting and setting up the latest fashion trends and displays throughout the store and always greeting customers with that brilliant smile of hers. Her friends and sisters envied her latest shoe purchases. Every inch of her home is decorated with gorgeous textiles, wall décor, and framed photos. She organized many photo shoots with her family and extended family throughout the years. Her love of family is beautifully displayed on every wall and surface available in her home. Other things she enjoyed were time on the water, teaching children’s church at Lake Community Church, hosting gatherings, and traveling to Florida and the North Shore of Minnesota. Jen was also known to be the late one in the family, but she made up for it with her long goodbyes.

Jen is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary (Ewing) Malyon and maternal grandparents, Douglas and Barbara (Pelley) Johnston.

Jen will be dearly missed by her husband, Todd; sons, Mitchell Telles, Kade, Kyle, and Jace; granddaughters, Ava and Eleanor; parents, William and Alison (Johnston) Malyon; brother, Brian Malyon; sisters, Molly Seipkes and Megan Blondeau; parents-in-law, Chuck & Kathy Blankenship; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at Lake Community Church in Alexandria with Pastor Jon Ewton officiating.
