William “Mike” Blankenship went to be with the Lord November 5, 2022, with his family by his side. Mike was born January 10, 1961, to Doris Richardson and David Winkler. He was raised in Farley, MO on the farm that he loved by his Grandma and Grandpa “Pigs” Blankenship.

Mike didn’t know a stranger and was loved by everyone. There wasn’t a engine he couldn’t work on or fix, a person he wouldn’t help if he could, a tractor he didn’t love (except John Deere). He was had a joke or story to tell and would find a way to make you laugh no matter how rough his day was. He was ornery, a hard worker, loyal, and all around amazing. The world is a bit darker without him, but Heaven is definitely brighter.

He spent his days playing on the farm and working the fields, until it was taken from him. Mike met his first love Cecilia “Ceil” in their teenager years and they remained married until her passing in 2008. She took his hand and led him with her to Heaven.

He is also preceded in death by his parents John and Marjorie Blankenship and his father David Winkler.

Mike is survived by his last love Peggy “my girlfriend” Anderson who was by his side until the end. He is also survived by his baby girl Nida (Roger), his boy William/Mighty (Jamie), his bonus daughter Megan (Jared) and his bonus son David, his pride, and joys- his grandchildren, Alexus, Kaylynd, Jaelyn, Cheyenne, John and Josie, and his most prized loves, his great grand babies, Kacey J, Jaisada, Nolan, Wyatt and Chloe. After trying his hand at haircuts he decided to enroll at ECPI in Cleveland, OH, to learn computer programming. +2022, Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH, Obituary

https://obituaries.advertiser-tribune.com/us/obituaries/advertiser-tribune/name/garland-blankenship-obituary?id=37244293

Garland Timothy "Tim" Blankenship, 81, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022. He was born March 13, 1941, the son of Garland and Pearl (Crockett) Blankenship.

He grew up on a 300-acre farm on Beech Fork in Lavalette, West Virginia, which by all accounts was his Heaven on earth. Growing up on a farm, Tim knew the meaning of hard work, harvesting crops, baling hay, and caring for livestock. Summers were spent swimming in the creek, picking berries, and having picnics with family. The farm was a place for family and friends to gather, stringing beans on the front porch, football games in the yard, listening to 'The Lone Ranger' on the radio, and epic house parties.

After graduating from Wayne High School in 1959, Tim enlisted in U.S. Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War from 1963-1965, and U.S. Army Reserve from 1965-1969. Following his return from military duty, Tim put down roots in Tiffin and started work as a Maintenance Technician at Union Carbide Processing Plant in Fostoria, where he worked for 34 years until his retirement in 2000. Tim was a member of Moose Lodge 846, VFW Post 2858, and AMVETS Post 48 in Tiffin.

The quintessential man's man, but also quite a ladies' man, Tim was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome while also being the stoic, strong, and silent type. Underneath a rugged exterior, he conveyed a quiet tenderness and care for those he loved. Always putting others first, Tim was a generous man with a big heart. His easy-going attitude and playful sense of humor made his stories even more entertaining.

He was a music aficionado with an affinity for classic television, old westerns, war movies, or a crime drama. He appreciated a good cup of coffee and a home-cooked meal. Tim enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he looked forward to the annual Crockett Family Reunion at Beech Fork. Tim will be best remembered for his love for children, devotion to family, and his patriotism.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Samuel Blankenship, Anna Blankenship, Marilyn (Blankenship) Pruitt, Jane (Blankenship) Adkins, Karl Blankenship, Glenna (Blankenship) Childers, and Gary Blankenship; nephew, Doug Blankenship; and niece, Kimberly Pruitt.

Tim's services will be at 2 pm Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at Morris Funeral Home in Wayne, West Virginia. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in Bowen, West Virginia.

https://matthewsfuneralhome.com/janice-blankinship/

Janice Blankinship, 1947-2022

Jan Lynn Ross was born in the small town of Holdenville OK to Guy and Ida Ross in 1947.

They had a mom-and-pop grocery store which was just across the gravel driveway that separated their house and the store.  She loved her mom and dad and loved just being where they were.  She loved the rain and to be in the store with her parents watching the rain was just fine.  You could find her sitting at her dad’s roll top desk with a comic book, a bag of Fritos and a coke.  She played basketball in grade school as #00 and once won the game by making a basket from mid court.  She went to high school in Holdenville and after graduating from high school she attended Oklahoma Christian College now known as Oklahoma Christian University. She taught school for a while but gave that up because, as she said, she couldn’t stand the high pay and prestige.

She worked a few years at Hertz Rent a Car where she met her future husband, Vernon Blankinship.  They married on February 23, 1973.  They would have been married for 50 years in February of 2023.  After marrying Vernon, she went to work at Southwestern Bell and worked in the engineering dept. as an Auto CAD specialist drawing up prints where new phone line cable was to be installed.  She retired from SBC in October of 2003.  She liked to ride on the back of her and her husband’s Goldwing motorcycle.  She did learn how to ride her own small motorcycle but after a while decided she liked driving golf balls better and riding with her husband.  Jan was a member at Edmond First Baptist Church.  She loved singing in the choir more than anything else.  There were many people in her church that knew and loved her, and a host of other people would call her a friend.  She really liked the Wednesday nights at church where she could have a meal with all her friends, attend a class and then finish up with about an hour and half of choir practice.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Edmond First Baptist Church at 10:00 AM.

He enjoyed connecting with his students, learning about their home cultures, and knowing he helped them become American citizens.

Through the years, he served as Usher and Treasurer and was a faithful member of the Men’s bible study group.Brien and Jan made multiple missionary trips to Brazil, spending the summer teaching English to “street boys” in an orphanage. They lived at the orphanage for six weeks each summer, providing new perspectives on what was important to him.

Brien loved collecting foreign money and coins; through his travels and ESL students, he collected coins from 82 countries worldwide. These were a source of joy and inspiration, and he enjoyed sharing them with his family and grandchildren.

Brien was also an amateur archeologist and geologist and loved collecting fossils, rocks, and gems. His adventures led him to explore Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and Colorado.
