Brenda Sue
Blankenship, November 25, 1948 — February 14, 2023, Bolt,
WV
Brenda Sue
Blankenship, 74, went to be with the Lord on
February 14, 2023. There she was reunited with her husband and
valentine, Terry Dale Blankenship, her parents, Duke and Velma Blevins, her brothers
Robert and Winston Blevins, and her sister, Mary Irvin.
Brenda was a
homemaker that loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She loved to
dance and sing and had a sassy sense of humor. Everyone knew her as "Mama
B ", because she truly was a mom to everyone. Brenda attended Grace
Independent Baptist Church, where for years she organized the Ladies Auxiliary
and loved her church family and helping the community with them. Brenda had an
amazing laugh and always saw the best in people.
Brenda loved to
have "porch talks" where many would gather on her long front porch
and laugh and talk for hours, while her beloved furbaby,
Teddy, would bounce from lap to lap. Many neighbors and friends couldn't wait
for warmer weather to be able to start the porch talks with Mama B.
Brenda loved to
cross off things on her bucket list, and usually did so with her big baby boy,
Steve. Whether it was riding on an airplane for the first time or sticking her
feet in the Gulf of Mexico, Brenda was along for the ride. Her beloved
grandchildren would encourage her and make her try new foods and teach her
about different cultures. She would then tell everyone she knew about the
experiences and would look at those pictures and show them from time to time
and smile.
Brenda leaves
behind three children, Steve Blankenship, Nikki (Terri Jr) Blankenship, and Jamie Blankenship; a daughter in law/ extra daughter,
Stephanie; four grandchildren, Ashley
Blankenship, Haley Mayse, Kaitlin Blankenship, and Emma Blankenship; bonus grandson, Jake (Haley's
husband); and three great grandchildren, Lily, Irelyn,
Beckham (Hoss). She leaves behind many family and friends that will miss her
greatly. For again, Brenda was a mom to everyone.
Her service
will be officiated by her pastor, Benny Cozort, whom she had so much love and respect for beginning
at 2pm Sunday, February 19th, 2023 at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, WV.
