We celebrate the life and mourn the loss of Shirley Mae Blankenship; wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and beloved friend to so many. She was born on April 21, 1936 and left us on August 28, 2023. For 87 years she blessed those around her with love, compassion, support, grace, patience, and sensitivity. Shirley appreciated the beauty in life and surrounded herself with family and friends.

Shirley was strong and independent with a healthy sense of adventure and a rich love for music, literature, fashion, and cuisine. She enjoyed dressing up for any occasion and was well known for her impeccable taste and style.

She brought four children into the world; Joanne, Tony, Earl and John, but her caregiving abilities extended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. Shirley cherished time spent with family and enjoyed opening her home to those in need. Shirley was a mother to many animals throughout her life, appreciating nature and giving a home to souls both innocent and vulnerable.

In her final year, Earl and his family were blessed with the opportunity to live with and care for Shirley. She lived a full and memorable life and will be deeply missed. We offer condolences to her family and friends but are grateful for the chance to have experienced her life and love.
