Rebecca Jane
Blankenship “Becky”, 70 [1953], of Sunnyland Road, Mountain View, Arkansas, died Thursday,
September 14, 2023 at Conway Regional Hospital [Conway, Faulkner Co., AR]. Becky was the daughter of Lois Armstrong Newman & Glover Armstrong of Tampa, FL.
In 1955, Lois
married Jay C. Newman of Mountain View, Arkansas and they moved the family to
the farm on Sunnyland Road. Becky attended school
& graduated from Mountain View High School in 1971. Becky was known for her
basketball skills in school. She was the tall blond who could dunk free throws.
She attended nursing school and was a licensed practical nurse for several
years until health issues caused her to leave her career in nursing.
Becky was saved
at the little community church, Sunnyland Baptist and
baptized in nearby Turkey Creek at a young age. She loved the Lord from an
early age and He carried her home on Thursday afternoon. Becky was an excellent
cook and her biscuits and chocolate gravy were the absolute delight for a
hungry tummy. She was also very talented in needlework. She created many
beautiful doilies and other artwork, but her true love and talent was working
with horses. At an early age, she learned how to care for, catch,
saddle and ride Patches, Sandy & Candy, the family horses. She would teach
her brother and sisters how to ride and handle the horses. Becky owned and rode
horses all her life. She & Loyd currently still
have several. She commented last Saturday how beautiful her mare & colt
were.
Becky married
the love of her life, Loyd Blankenship in 1981. They soon moved to the farm on Sunnyland where they shared the love of her boys, horses
& dancing. They were a lovely couple to watch while they glided across the
floor so beautifully together. They loved and raised four boys and two grandchildren
together.
Preceded in
death were two sons, Michael Newman & Phillip Lawson; parents, Jay &
Lois Newman and brother, Dwayne Newman.
Left to cherish
her memory is her husband, Loyd of the home; two sons,
James Newman and Justin Blankenship; two grandchildren, Jason Newman &
Brittany Chamberlin; three great-grandchildren, Addison Newman, Kaylee &
Kaden Chamberlin and three sisters, Gloria Burns, Barbara Henderson &
Juanita Terry.

Terry Lynn
Blankenship, 62, of Decatur, IL, passed away at
Decatur Memorial Hospital at 11:27 P.M. on Tuesday (09-26-2023). He was born on
May 8, 1961, in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles
Frederick Blankenship and Carol Ann (Cooley) Blankenship.
Terry was a
very proud Veteran and served his country in the United States Army during
Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Decatur, IL. Terry was also a
truck driver for several years. He also loved camping, fishing, kayaking,
golfing, and was an avid Chicago Cub’s fan and a Chicago Bear’s fan.
Terry married Tresa Lynn Shewmake on June 19,
1999, in Decatur, IL.
Terry was
preceded in death by his father Charles, stepmother Jean Blankenship and one sister Michele Blankenship.

survived by his wife Tresa of Decatur, IL; two sons:

Becky graduated
from South Newton High School in 1982. Her marriage was to the love of her
life, Bernie L. Blankenship on July 27, 1985 in the Kentland
United Methodist Church and he survives. Becky and Bernie lived most of their
life in the Kentland area, moving to Monticello on the lake in 2007. She was
employed several years with both Newton and White County Government’s. Becky
devoted many months taking care of her mother-in-law, Connie Blankenship. Becky
loved spending time with her grandchildren and grand dogs. She enjoyed drawing
pictures and casino trips with Bernie.
Preceding her
in death along with her parents is a sister, Pam Good.
Surviving along
with her husband is one daughter, Casey (husband:
Eric) (Blankenship) Blackburn; sister, Deb (husband: Brian) Deno of Lafayette. Grandchildren, Owen

She was a
graduate of Fairview High School, an LPN at the Veterans Administration
Hospital in Huntington, WV for 27 years, and was of the Christian faith.

her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Samantha Jo "Sammie" Sorrell and her
brother Greg Hall.

Blankenship Bentley, 79, of Phelps, KY passed away
September 22, 2023, at her home, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by
her loved ones. Deloris was born
February 16, 1944. She was the daughter
of the late Clarence Blankenship and Lilly Sanson.
Deloris loved
her family dearly. She always did
everything she could for them all. She
was a lover of the outdoors when her health allowed, tending to her gardens,
flowers, and landscaping
She was a lover of the bohemian style, and especially loved
decorating for the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite. In her younger years, Deloris enjoyed hunting
for ginseng, and she was a storyteller and told many stories of her past, with
her favorite memories being when she resided on Widow’s Branch in Phelps,
KY. She always said she lived beside
some of the best people of her life, and the stories she would tell would captivate
all around listening.
Deloris was
preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Jimmy Bentley; daughters Sherry
Hurley, Judy Bishop, and Sophie Justice; son, Benny Hurley; sisters
Beatrice Daugherty, Lona May Aslinger; brothers
Charlie Blankenship, and Carl Blankenship; other notable family members; nephew Bobby Daugherty; son-in-law Barry
Coleman, and best friend Macie Hamilton.
She is survived
by her son Ricky (Jonnie) Hurley of Kimper, KY;
daughters Lenore Hurley, and Patsy Coleman, both of Phelps, KY; grandchildren
Matthew, Shandi, Ricky Paul, Stephen, Charley,
Justin, Shane, Donathon, Breanna, Danielle, Megan,
Gena, Benjamin, Ethan, and Jacob. She is
also survived by a new generation of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews,

Johnny served
in the United States Air Force and after leaving the Air Force he drove a truck
for many years doing long haul deliveries. He was also an avid reader.
He was preceded
in death by his parents and siblings’ sisters Freddie and husband Eugene White,
Nona Fey, brothers Henry, Carrol and wife Nancy, James Charles (JC) and wife
Alanna, Joseph, and brother-in-law Curtis Leach.
He is survived
by sister Doris Leach and sister-in-law Margret. His
three children Tina and husband Doug Rea, her children Miranda Kamp, and Keith
Rea. Kenneth, and girlfriend Melinda West, his
children Mellissa Stracener, Olivia (Jaxson) Blankenship, Jaclynn (Page) Jordan, Becca Williams, Robbie
Williams. William, and

Bobby
Blankenship, a man of remarkable achievements and
boundless enthusiasm, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
He was a
dedicated servant in both his military and civilian life, having served as a
paratrooper instructor in the 508th Airborne Infantry. In his community, Bobby
held the esteemed positions of President of the Bass Masters and Commander of
the American Legion Hall as well as coach of the Berwick little league baseball
team for many years.
Beyond his
dedication to service, Bobby's life was marked by his love for various
activities. He had a deep passion for fishing, bowling, and cooking, but it was
his exceptional talent in playing pool that stood out, earning him recognition
among friends and competitors alike. He cherished the simple joys of spending
quality time with friends and family, and he had a special place in his heart
for the great outdoors, often escaping to the camp to find solace in nature.
Bobby was
preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margery
Nell Blankenship, his eldest son, Shayne Blankenship, his eldest daughter, Trina Jones, and his brother, Donald
"Possum" Ray Blankenship.
Bobby is
survived by his loving children, Michael Ray

Jonathan Thomas
“JT” Blankenship went to be with his Lord and Savior on
September 24, 2023. JT was born June 1, 1941 in Cato, Missouri to Stanley and Edith (Wilson) Blankenship. On October 9, 1961.
He was united in marriage to the sug of his life, Silva Dean Stockton in Miami, Oklahoma and
to this union three children were born, Marsha, Shelley and Jason.
JT started his
career in barbering in Springfield, Missouri in 1961, he then came to
Cassville, Missouri in 1964 where he opened his own barber shop and in that
barber shop he had a very successful career for 62 years. JT liked to spend his
time hunting all kinds of game but turkey hunting was his favorite and fishing.
JT loved the Lord with all his heart and loved reading and spreading God’s
word. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. JT
loved his family so very much, he was a wonderful
husband, father and Papa B.
Preceding him in death were his parents;
step-mother, Viola; father and mother-in-law, Cab and Ancil
Fields Stockton; two grandchildren, Shelby and Brett Paul and one step-brother,
Joe Isley.
Surviving are
his wife, Silva Blankenship; his three children, Marsha Scott and her husband Jeffery Scott of Exeter, Missouri, Shelley Hall and her husband Mark Hall of
Goodman, Missouri and Jason Blankenship and his wife Christine of Eagle Rock, Missouri; seven grandchildren,
David Anthony Paul and his wife Lindsey, Alisha Merritt and her husband

Philip Edmond
Blankenship, age 86, of Nixa, Missouri, went home to
be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born September 4, 1937,
in Poplar, Montana to William Mark and Rose (Seeds) Blankenship and
grew up in the Wolf Point, Montana community.
He joined the
military when he was 17. A special
service in the Navy, among many others, was the deep-sea salvage diving. He
qualified and joined. After 4 years of service, he returned to Montana.
He was united
in marriage to Marlene Heinrichs on October 21,1959. The oil boom
was active in those days and Philip worked several years on the rigs. One
evening after work and in his hotel room, he picked up the Gideon Bible and
challenged God to show him who he was. A bolt of electricity from his raised
hand sent him to his knees as his answer.
He took flying
lessons from Albrights Flying Service and earned his Private Pilot’s License in
Roundup, Montana. Later became a commercial pilot and flight instructor. He attended the Northrop Institute of
Technology in Inglewood, CA and graduated with an A/P (Airframe and Powerplant) degree. He attended and graduated with a BA
degree from the Golden State University in Downey, CA. He attended and
graduated from the Christians in Action Missionary School in Long Beach,
CA.
Guatemala was
his first assigned mission field. While there, the devastating 1976 earthquake
happened. As a pilot, he with his private plane helped many survivors and the
government pinpoint the hardest hit areas.
Hard, dedicated work, and together with his co-workers a Christians in
Action Mission was established there. The mission and the work are still on
going and growing.
He also served
in Iquitos, Peru, first under the umbrella of Bruce and Gail Unterschutes, then with World Missions Far Corners also two
years were served at the Christians in Action mission in Germany, and a short
time in Okinawa. He was a counsellor to both international and local workers.
He was the life of the party and yet admired by showing how the life of a
Christian can be fun.
Philip was
preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa, brothers and sisters, Gwen,
Mark, Ruthie, Esther and his parents.
Survivors
include: His wife Marlene: two daughters, Phyllis Dilley and husband Dan of
Nixa and Penny Kreitzer and husband, Tom also of
Nixa: grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Tenney, Michael
(Emily) Dilley and Matthew (Nicole) Dilley: seven great-grandchildren Ryan Tenney, Journey Tenney, Amber Tenney, Miley Dilley, Malachi Dilley, Asher Dilley and Seth

Wanda, a
lifelong resident of Webster County, worked for 50 + years as a hair stylist in
Seymour. Wanda had a passion for
collecting Coca-Cola items and Precious Moments. She also enjoyed gardening and
flowers, being at the Seymour Senior Center for meals, visiting with friends,
and playing dominoes.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, Siegfreid and Edith
(Cook) Lorenz; two sons, Greg and Craig Cravens; sister, Tessie Lorenz Hinds;
and brothers, Wayne Lorenz and Oscar Lorenz.
Wanda is
survived by husband, Cecil Blankenship, of the home; son Kerry Brent Cravens of Springfield; Cecil's daughters,

Henry “Joe” Blankenship, 83 [July 26, 1940], passed
away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. A native of Black Mountain, NC, Joe was a
son of the late John Wade and Gloria Lockhart
Blankenship.
Mr. Blankenship
retired from Philip Morris USA after 31 years. He was a charter member of the
Asheville Boat & Ski Club, a longtime camper at the Lake James Campground,
and served as the “Mayor” of the Enka Lake Lane Compound. He loved golfing,
traveling in the RV (he visited 48 states), winters in Sarasota, FL, mowing
grass (when it wasn’t too hot), NASCAR races, Tar Heel basketball, family
functions with all of the homemade food, and cruising around the compound in
the golf cart with his great-grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by his sister, Doris Harvey,
and brother, J. W. Blankenship.
He is survived
by his wife, Julia “Gaye” Sprinkle Blankenship; daughter, Jill Blankenship (Missy); son, Brent Blankenship (Sarah); granddaughters, Hannah Johnston (Jeffry) and Lauren Jamison

Bonus-Blankenship passed away on Tuesday, September
12. She was a resident of Durham,
NC. Elizabeth was born in Rochester, New
York and spent her youth in Chelsea, Michigan where her most wonderful memories
were of lovely days spent with her family while living on South Lake, in Grass
Lake, Michigan. She later lived in
Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Bloomington North High School. After high school she attended Indiana
University.
Elizabeth was a
long-time employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield NC and then went on to obtain a
Real Estate Broker’s license. She was
employed at Durham Technical Community College as an adjunct instructor and
most recently at Orange County Department of Aging as a career coach. Throughout the years Elizabeth helped during
elections with Durham County Board of Elections and took special pride in her
involvement with that organization as well as with the US Census Bureau.
Elizabeth married
James Finley Blankenship, Jr. and theirs was a happy and loving union cut short by his death in
February, 2014.
She was
predeceased by her parents Thaddeus M. Bonus and Candace Cox Bonus.
Left to miss “Liz” are her siblings Ellen Bonus (Ernie Hood), Emily
Long (Bryan Baylor) and Andrew Bonus (AnnaMarie). Liz adored her niece and nephews Lily
Zeigler, Ben Zeigler, Henry Schroeder, Emerson Baylor, Jeffery Bonus and James
Bonus as well as her grandnephew Malik Mouabid, her
cousins and her sister-in-law Sandra Bonus.
Liz will especially be deeply missed by her long-time friend Linda
Miles. She will also be mourned by her
late husband Jim’s family.

Linda Carol
Blankenship, 77 of Clinton, passed away on September
15, 2023 after a long health battle. Linda was born on June 13, 1946 in
Decatur, Illinois to her parents, Leonard Max and Tillie Emily Steele.
Linda worked
for many years a Belks and at Sampson Community
College in the Continuing Education Department. Linda loved to be creative,
painting, teaching ceramics classes, knitting, sewing, quilting, crocheting,
and playing the piano. Linda loved animals. Linda loved her family and loved to
cook for them to show her love. Mom was a sweet lady making friends in the many
communities in which she lived from Illinois, to New Jersey, to North Carolina.
She survived many challenges in her life including the loss of her parents, as
an only child, and several health challenges over the course of her life. She
always found a way to laugh and smile and was humming quietly even up to a few
weeks before her death. She also never lost her faith and we are thankful that
she instilled this love of God in each of us. We know what one fine day we will
meet her there in Heaven. We are all sure that in addition to Grandpa Max and
Grandma Tillie, there will be a large group of dogs and hundreds of cats Mom
cared for waiting for her in heaven along with many family and friend.
She is preceded
in death by her mother and father and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

the director of surgery and the Cath lab. Her passion for healthcare led her to
St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee, where she continued her career as the
director of surgery.
On June 28,
2008, Amy married the love of her life, Vaughn
Blankenship, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. The marriage
began with an expensive wedding ring of $26.00! Together, they built a
beautiful life, filled with love and laughter. Amy was a devoted mother and
grandmother, who cherished every moment spent with her family. She was an avid
supporter of her son Redick's basketball games and took great joy in her role as
a coach's wife. Amy was also known for her unique interest in killing zombies., which added a touch of fun and excitement to her
personality. She had a knack for using movie quotes for every occasion like “dicfur”.
Amy was a woman
of faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Savanna. Her faith was
a guiding force in her life and she lived it out through her kindness and
generosity towards others.
Amy's life was
a testament to her loving nature, her kindness, being a servant in all roles of
life, and her wonderful sense of humor. She brought joy and laughter to every
room she entered and her memory will continue to bring smiles to the faces of
those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her
family and friends, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were
fortunate enough to have known her.
Amy was
preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Dale Arterburn;

trips and camping adventures were among his favorite pastimes. These outdoor

opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the world around him.

Blankenship, a dedicated and loving soul, made her
journey to the celestial kingdom on September 14, 2023. Born to Raymond Marso and Geneva Morgan on June 14, 1959, in Clear Lake, South Dakota,
Elizabeth's
joyful life was a testament to her unwavering faith in the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a beacon of light
to her family and community in Lost Creek, West Virginia, a trait she carried
with her from her early years in Charleston, SC, where she graduated high
school.
Her hobbies of
coloring, art, and cooking for her family were further expressions of her love
and care, serving as cherished reminders of her creative spirit and nurturing
heart.
Elizabeth was
preceded in her journey to eternity by her parents, Raymond Marso
and Geneva Morgan; and two brothers: Richard and Michael Marso.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will remain in the
hearts of her family.
Elizabeth's
life was a reflection of the values she held dear. Her supportive and reliable
nature was evident in her role as a homemaker, where she created a loving
environment for her family. She was married to her beloved husband, Bob Blankenship, on July 13, 1978, and their bond
was a true testament to the power of love and companionship. Elizabeth's love
extended to her two sons: Colonel Blankenship and wife, Ashley, and Eric
Blankenship, both of Lost Creek; one step-grandchild, Rorick
Bennett of Lumberport; one brother, Lorenze Marso and wife, Linn, of
Gainesville, FL; and one sister, Darlene Watson and husband, Paul, of Columbia,
SC.
Elizabeth’s
request for Cremation has been honored at Pat Boyle Funeral Home’s On-Site
Crematory. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

January 19, 1939 in Myrtle, WV the daughter of the late Henry C. Spence and Utha Faye Marcum.
Iris enjoyed
singing in church, quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening, and painting.
In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Steve Spence, Sally
Runyon, William Marcum, and Lilly Sturgill; spouses,
Raymond Burns and Allen Blankenship; siblings, Dallas Spence, Lois Wheeler, and Roy Spence.
Those left to
cherish her memory include her daughter, Beverly
Kay and Michael Slade of Chapmanville, WV; sons,
Curtis Allen (Lynn) Blankenship of Huntington, WV, Bobby Dale Blankenship of Chapmanville, WV; sisters, Betty Goudy of Ohio, Alice Nichols of
North Carolina, and Sharon Rose of Charleston, WV; brothers, Robert C. Spence
of Hamlin, WV, Phillip of Virginia, and Russel of Kentucky; grandchildren,
Amanda, Brandon, Luc, and Nathan Blankenship, Sidney, Sara, and Samantha Slade; great-grandchildren, Ada, Wyatt,
Oliver Alton, and Amelia; and a host of family and friends.
Services will
be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the Freeman funeral home
with Rick Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens,
Chapmanville, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Huntington, WV. passed away Saturday, September 16,
2023, at Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center.
He was born October 27, 1950, in Wayne County, West Virginia and was a
retired carpenter.
He was preceded
in death by his mother Martha (Bud “Kin”) Perry; grandparents, Doc and Chaney Blankenship; and one grandson Benjamin
Blankenship.
Survivors
include one son, Allen (Christie) Blankenship; and three grandchildren, Brady
Blankenship, Austin
Blankenship, and Anna Blankenship all of Huntington.
Graveside services
will be conducted at 1 pm, on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Blankenship Cemetery. Arrangement entrusted to Johnson
Tiller Funeral Home.

Blankenship McCune, 57, passed from this life Sunday,
September 24, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Karen was born
Thursday, May 12, 1966, in Orville, OH, a daughter of the late George Blankenship and Clara Lemley Blankenship who survives in Valley Bend.
On July 17,
1982, in Mill Creek, she married Kenneth “Kenny” McCune who survives at home.
Karen was a
graduate of Tygarts Valley High School and then
obtained a business degree at West Virginia Business College. She was employed
at Tyrand Cooperative Ministries as an office manager
for twenty-one years until her retirement in November of 2022. She was involved
in her community and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed thrift store
shopping, reading, and spending time with her family. Karen loved to cook for
her family, friends, and community. She loved supporting any and all activities
her grandchildren were involved in. Karen was Baptist by faith and a member of
Valley Independent Baptist Church in Huttonsville.
Preceding her
in death was one daughter, Sondra McCune.
Also left to
cherish her memory, are two children, Richard McCune of Huttonsville
and Shannon McCune and fiancé Shane Lanham of Huttonsville,
three grandchildren, Isaiah, Ryland, and Kensley,
three sisters, Holly Blankenship and fiancé Frank Kennedy, Tonya Fincham and fiancé Kenny Wingfield, Lorraine Yokum, her sister and ‘ole buddy, Brenda Martin and husband
Rick, three special nieces, Abigail Wise, Paeton Fincham, and Emaly Wingfield.
Visitation will
be held at the Valley Independent Baptist Independent Church in Huttonsville Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 11 am until
1 pm, the funeral hour. Pastor Frank Stanley will officiate and interment will
follow in Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.

Blankenship, 88, of Cass went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday September 6, 2023, at Peyton Hospice House [Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., WV]. Myra was born February 15, 1935, in Marlinton and was the daughter of
the late Dency Eddie and Gosha Underwood Sharp.
Myra was a
Nurse Aide at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital and worked at Hanover Shoe Company
until her retirement I 1990. She was of Baptist Faith.
Myra looked forward to working in her vegetable garden each summer and loved to
can all the foods that it produced. Myra had a wonderful love for cats,
especially for her Grandcat Panther James
In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dice Sharp, and three
sisters, Georgia Hutchings, Mary Tersigni, Violet Banton.
Myra is
survived by one son, Eddie Blankenship and wife Victoria of Cass, one brother Dency
“Bus” Sharp of Canton, OH, one sister, Betty McPaters
of Marlinton, along with several nieces and nephews.
In keeping
Myra’s wishes, there will be no service and she will be cremated
