Wolcott Hutchins of Woodland Beach died of congestive heart failure Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 82.  Mr. Hutchins was born April 20, 1918, in Hartly, the son of the late Wolcott and Mary Racine Hutchins.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater during the Battle of Leyte Gulf and the New Guinea and Philippines invasions.  He retired from the U.S. Civil Service as an aircraft technician/supervisor at Dover Air Force Base. He later worked part-time for the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife.
Mr. Hutchins was an avid waterfowl hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed gardening and Labrador retrievers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Beulah Blankenship Hutchins, in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Brooks Hutchins; three sons, Robert W. Hutchins and Douglas J. Hutchins, both of Smyrna, and Wayne Hutchins of Wilmington, N.C.; two daughters, Cheryl Kenley of Wyoming and Sandra Winnington of Wilmington, Del.; two stepsons, Melvin R. Sethman of Dade, Fla., and Francis Sethman of Smyrna; a sister, Agnes Newcomber of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; and three grandsons, Justin Kenley of Seattle, Weston Kenley of Philadelphia and Douglas Hutchins Jr. of Woodland Beach.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Samuel W. Blankenship Age 82 of Pencader Farms, Bear, DE passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 in the Christiana Hospital. He was born in Stevenson, VA, the son of the late Samuel and Lorena Blankenship, and had resided in New Castle County for the past 50 years. He first worked in coalmines in WV and KY before coming to DE, where he worked as an automobile repairman at Chrysler Corporation in Newark for 26 years before retiring in 1985. Samuel served his country during World War II as a member of the 82nd Airborne, 504th Regiment, U.S. Army, serving in Italy, Holland and Germany. He enjoyed reading and gardening, and he had a sincere love for animals.

Samuel is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lorene "Smith" Blankenship; his children, Samuel P. Blankenship, III and his wife, Jennifer of Newark and Annette Lee Blankenship of New Castle; sister Betty Hess of New Castle; and his friend and brother-in-law, Herman Justice of New Castle.

Relatives and friends are invited to Samuel's Life Celebration at Beeson Memorial Services of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Hwy., Newark (453-1900) on Thursday, February 13th from 12-2 pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14th at 12 noon in the chapel of the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Bear with military honors.

Lorene S. Blankenship Age 83, of Bear, DE, joined her husband of 52 years, Samuel Blankenship, on Sunday, March 18, 2007, at her home. Born in Daniels, WV on July 18, 1923 to the late Alton and Nellie (Anderson) Smith. She moved to Delaware in the 1950's. She was a homemaker with a great love for gardening and her many animals.

Lorene is survived by her son, Samuel P. Blankenship, III, and his wife, Jennifer, of Newark, DE; daughter, Annette Lee Blankenship, of New Castle, DE; her sisters, Genevieve Patrick, Phyllis Reed, Marcella Cook, Jean Royce, Daphne Grass, and Polly Carter; dogs, Ginger, and Elvis; and her many cats and birds.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of Lorene's life from 9:30-10:30 am, on Wednesday, March 21, at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Route 40, Newark, DE. Committal services will follow at 11 am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Joseph Paul Blankenship, 40, of Newark, DE, died on Saturday February 12, 2000 at Christiana Hospital. Mr. Blankenship had been a welder with Potts Welding for 8 years, retiring due to disability in 1997. He was a US Navy veteran with 14 years of military service and he loved baseball and boxing.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Anne (White) Blankenship; children, Bryan Nicholas, Elizabeth Grace & Michael Lynn, all at home; father Otey of Roanoke, VA; 3 brothers, Sonny of Round Rock, TX, Jesse of Roanoke, VA & Ricky of Roanoke, VA; 3 sisters, Rita McGlothlin of Roanoke, VA, Joanne Linton of New Castle, VA & Debbie Sapp of Roanoke, VA; & a granddaughter, Alexis Anne, at home.

William J. Blankenship, age 48, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2001. Mr. Blankenship last worked as a truck driver for Mopar, previously he owned and operated his own trucking company. William was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, he enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and the outdoors, traveling, woodworking and puzzles. Mr. Blankenship served our country during the Vietnam War as a member of the US Army.

William is survived by his wife of 31 years, Catherine M. Blankenship; a son, Shawn Blankenship of Newark, DE; his mother, Vida I. Blankenship of Wilm., DE; 2 brothers, Charles Blankenship of Wilm., DE and James Blankenship of Crossplains, TX; 2 sisters, Darlene Diego of Clayton, DE and Marcella P. Torres of Elkton, MD. He is also survived by 2 special boys, Scott Gilfert and Patrick Slider. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Blankenship and 2 sister, Carolyn Blankenship and Janice Cromer.

Billy J. Blankenship Age 68 of Newark, DE, died peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Temple University Medical Center in Philadelphia due to complications from lung surgery. Billy was born February 15, 1937 in Haysi, VA. He was employed at Chrysler Corp. in Newark for 33 years and retired in June 1995. Billy loved NAS-CAR races and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray Blankenship and Alta Mae Blankenship; and his brothers, John, Sammy and Teddy Blankenship.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Bass and her husband, Joe of Middletown, DE; his son, Robert Blankenship of Newark, DE; 2 grandsons, Dustin Mecke and his wife, Sarah of Newark, DE, and Robbie Joe Bass of Middletown, DE; and great grandson, Dylan Mecke of Middletown, DE. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Delores Duty of Haysi, VA, Betty Mansfield and her husband, Stanley of Vansant, VA, Roberta Looney and her husband, David of Abingdon, VA, and Mickey Breeding and her husband, Harliss of Rosedale, VA; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Services will be in Haysi, VA at a later date.

Mr. Tommy Joe Blankenship, age 47, of Newark, DE, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at Heartland Hospice House. Mr. Blankenship was born in Welch, WV on December 22, 1959. A construction worker by profession, he was employed with P.J. Fitzpatrick in Newark and also worked as an independent contractor. In his leisure time, he greatly enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and fishing.

He is survived by his son, T.J. of New Castle; his mother, Ruth Blankenship of Newark; 2 brothers, Jerry Blankenship of Newark; and Jimmy Blankenship of Boca Raton, FL; his sister, Kathy Shrewsbury of Middletown; his granddaughter, Kaylee; and his companion, Mary Blankenship of Newark. He was preceded in death by his father, Maston Blankenship.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call after 10 am.

Vida I. Blankenship Age 79, of Wilmington, DE went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2004. Mrs. Blankenship was a nurses' aide at Hillside Nursing Home for over 20 years. She also served as a home health care provider. Mrs. Blankenship enjoyed collecting many things including beanie babies and angels. She was never without her dog Rico. Her main love in life was her family who will all greatly miss her.

Mrs. Blankenship is survived by 2 sons: James Blankenship and his wife Mary of Cross Plains, TX and Charles Blankenship of Wilmington, DE; 2 daughters: Marcella Torres and her husband Frank of Elkton, MD and Darlene Diego and her husband Tony of Clayton, DE; a daughter-in-law Cathy Blankenship of New Castle, DE; a son-in-law Bill Cromer of Newark, DE; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Blankenship was predeceased: by her husband Charles E. Blankenship; a son, William Blankenship; 2 daughters - Carolyn Blankenship and Jean Cromer; a brother, Estel Miller; a sister Pauline Harrison; and 2 great great grandchildren: Santos Locklear and Felix David Alonzo Rodriguez.

A service in celebration of Mrs. Blankenship's life will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the Victory Baptist Church, 100 Bracken Ave., Wilmington, DE 19805 at 11:00 AM where friends may call starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Donald E. Fauver, Sr., June 24th, 1937 - September 5th, 2008.

On September 5, 2008, God called our beloved Husband and Dad, Donald E. Fauver, Sr., home to rest. He was born and grew up in Ellicott City and remained in the area for over fifty years. He and his wife moved to Hanover, Pennsylvania in 1989 and lived there for sixteen years. Then, in 2005, they moved to Bridgeville, Delaware where they lived until his death.

He was very active in scouts, various sports and coaching while his children were growing up. He was a member of the National Guard, Ellicott City, in the early 1960's. He was also very involved in St. Louis Catholic Church as an usher and volunteer for the annual church picnic for many years. His passions were fishing and boating that he so enjoyed with his family. He was a very hard working man all of his life. He worked part-time for Cloverland Dairy when he met his future wife, Sylvia. He worked for Acme Markets for twenty-nine years until they left the Baltimore area. He was then hired as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service where he worked for fifteen years until his retirement in December of 1999. He and his wife celebrated their Fiftieth Anniversary on August 9, 2008. They were surrounded by family and friends at a wonderful anniversary party thrown by their three children at Annie's Steakhouse in Kent Narrows, Maryland, in their honor.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sylvia Fauver, his loving family, daughter Sharon L. Kelly and her husband David of Seaford, Delaware, son Donald E. Fauver, Jr. and fiancee Angie Sutton of Columbia, Maryland, daughter Malia Schlichting and her husband Marty of Columbia, Maryland. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Carolyn Blankenship, Barbara Unglesbee, Charlotte Chaney and brother Paul Fauver and their families.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Harvey H. and Mildred R. Fauver, grandmother Bessie R. Isaacs, as well as sisters Catherine Whitmore, Doris Delauder, Delores Houpt and brother Kenneth Fauver.

Arnold Blankenship, III Age 27 of Greenwood, DE, died Sunday, April 30, 2000 during a burning of a house 5 miles West of Bridgeville. Mr. Blankenship was born in Milford, DE to Arnold Blankenship, Jr. and Laura Evans Blankenship of Seaford, DE. He had been working for Burris Foods in Harrington, DE for the past 5 years. He loved deer and duck hunting, fishing, and most of all, playing with his son, Zachary. Mr. Blankenship was a devoted fireman. He joined the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company in May 1994. In 1998, he was Greenwood's Fireman of the Year. He currently held the position of 2nd Asst. Chief, and he was a past fire recorder, fire captain, and fire lieutenant. He also chaired several committees and was currently a member of the new truck committee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arleen Dawn Blankenship.

He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Dawn D. Blankenship and their 1-year old son, Zachary; his father and mother, Arnold Blankenship, Jr. and Laura A. Blankenship of Seaford; 3 sisters, Lois Ann Knolls of Felton, DE, Brenda Sue Blankenship of Felton, DE and Laura Lynn Knolls of Felton, DE; many uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 pm at the Greenwood Vol. Fire Station with full fireman honors. Burial will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
