Everett Schultz

Everett “Ed” Schultz, 77, Rt. 4, Rochester, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Hospital where he had been a patient five days. He was born Aug.29, 1904, in Iowa to Samuel and Josephine Hamilton Schultz.  He had resided in the Rochestr area since 1958.  He was married Aug. 3, 1933, to Edrie Cover, who survives.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Rochester First Christian Church and the Knights of Pythias, Rensselaer.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Nancy) Murphy, Rochester, and Mrs. Francis (Barbara) Blankenship, Mt. Dora, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lesley Schultz, South Bend, and Glenn Schultz, Momence, Ill.  Two sisters and three brothers preceded in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home with Rev. Teal Younce officiating.  Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer.

Hopkins, Dallas

Dallas Hopkins, 58, of 808 Monroe St., died at 2:15 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend.  He had been ill three years. He was born in Prestonsburg, Ky., Sept. 24, 1924, to William and Vicie England Hopkins.  His wife, Elizabeth Blankenship Hopkins, survives.  He was a taxi and truck driver and had served in World War II.

Surviving with the wife are two sons, Dan and Darrell [Hopkins], both of North Manchester; a daughter, Charnalea Stanley, North Manchester; a step-son, Roger Allen, Goshen; three step-daughters, Carol Marcum, Warsaw; Bonnie Jones, Goshen, and Diane Lesley, Rochester; two brothers; six sisters; five grandchildren, and eleven step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, Warsaw, the Rev. Arnold Fleagle officiating.  Burial will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery.

Hopkins, Sarah E.

Sarah Elizabeth Hopkins, 59, of 922 E. Market St., Warsaw, died at 10:56 p.m. Tuesday in Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born March 9, 1928 in Williamson, W. Va., to Conley and Carrie Wells Blankenship.  She moved to Warsaw from West Virginia in 1954.  She was married to Dallas Hopkins, who died Aug. 16, 1983.

Surviving are a son, Roger Allen [Hopkins], Goshen; hree daughters, Carolyn Marcum, Kingsport, Tenn.; Bonnie Farthing, Warsaw, and Diane Lasley, Winona Lake; two brothers, Elmer [Blankenship], Lima, Ohio, and Billy Ray [Blankenship], Warsaw, and a sister, Loraine Keaton, Iaeger, W. Va.

Services will be held in Iaeger, W. Va.  Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, 929 E. Center St., Warsaw.  Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery, Coon Branch, W. Va.

Lloyd Blankenship, 65, 1100 E. Laguna St., died at 6:14 a. m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1989, at Howard Community Hospital. Born May 19, 1924, in Jamboree, Ky., je was a son of Frank and Nancy (Justice) Blankenship. He retired in 1979 after 13 years with World Color. He also worked for Volunteers in the Community Service, Area 5. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of 40 & *, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152, and the American Legion. He Married Mabel Jameson on Sept. 6, 1974.

              Surviving are three Stepsons James Jameson, Ronnie Jameson, and Richard Jameson, all of Kokomo; two stepdaughters, Evalee Mathis of Garden Grove, Calif., and Judy Cutsinger of Kokomo: Two brothers, Eric Blankenship of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., And Newfred Blankenship of Williamson W.Va; Three sisters, Grethel Lampert, Bethel Blankenship and Geneva Castle, all of Fort Gay W.Va.; 14 stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

              The Reb. Harold Williams will lead a service at 1 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary, where friends may call from 5 -8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrison Street chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.

She was employed at American Rubber.

Surviving are one daughter, Lori, of LaPorte; her parents, Elbert and Joann Blankenship, of LaPorte; three sisters, Mrs. Leta Vandewalker, Mrs. Marilyn Brock and Mrs. Shirley Price, all of LaPorte; one brother, Carl E. Blankenship, of LaPorte; her grandfather, Walter Eichinger, also of LaPorte; four nieces and two nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Dan McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.
