The Death Angel has come quietly and unexpectedly into our midst again, this time taking with him in his flight the spirit of a loving wife and young mother. Cornelia Lucille Blankenship Willoughby, daughter of Walter and Wilma Brown Blankenship, was born in Allen County, October 7, 1931, and departed this life January 1, 1956, age 24 years, 2 months and 24 days.

She was married to Fred Ray Willoughby, June 17, 1950, and to this union was born two sons, Roger Lee Willoughby, age 4 years, and Michael Ray Willoughby, age 2 years.

Lucille professed faith in Christ at Macedonia Church when she was thirteen years old and united with the Maple Grove Baptist Church, where she remained a true and faithful member until death. Lucille was a quiet and obedient daughter, possessed a wonderful personality, and was an understanding wife and mother. She always had a radiant smile and a cheery word of welcome when her friends came to see her. She bore her suffering with patience and never complained. Such admirable traits of character can come only to those who have that perfect faith and trust in the Lord. She expressed an earnest desire to live to raise her little boys, but said that the Lord knew best and that she was ready and willing to go at his command.

She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her husband and children, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blankenship, Adolphus, three sisters, Mrs. Dewey Creasy, Adolphus, Mrs. J. W. Creasy and Mrs. Toy Gregory, both of Westmoreland, and five brothers, Luther Blankenship, Westmoreland, Dewey C., Dewan, Carl Gene and Eulis D. Blankenship, all of Adolphus, besides a host of relative and friends....

Funeral services were held Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist church for Albert Lemon Blankenship who died in the Howard clinic, Glasgow, [Barren Co., KY], Friday, 30 Apr at the age of 54. Rev. V.A. Jones was in charge of the services. Burial was in the church cem. Pallbearers were R.E. Patterson, N.S. Bagby, O.L. Patterson, Albert Judd, William Bagby and Bruce Pruitt.

Blankenship had been employed as a local cab driver for the last several months. His death was caused from a heart ailment. The son of the late Other Blankenship and Mrs. Cora Burris Blankenship he was born in Green Co. 15 Jun 1899. He professed faith in Christ early in life.

He was united in marriage to Miss Rosie Bishop. To this union 1 dau was born, Mrs. Paul Nunn, Greensburg. He was later united in marriage to Miss Lillian Curry, who survives. He is also survived by 5 sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Steen and Mrs. Ray Boston, Louisville, Mrs. Othel Kemp, Vine Grove, Mrs. Otha Clark, and Mrs. Neal Cox, Greensburg, 3 brothers, Genie and Dewey Blankenship, Greensburg, Garnett Blankenship, Campbellsville, 1 grandson, Clifton Beard.

All of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Ruby Brown, Louisville, Ky. And Mrs. Vernon Overton. Nashville: 3 Sons, Chesley and Clarence Blankenship, both of Nashville, and Carl Blankenship, Akron Ohio; 1 Stepson. Howard Barr; Stepdaughter, Ruby Weaver; 15 grandchildren and 23 greatgrandchildren.

Remains rest at the funeral home of Phillips-Robinson company. Where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon. At 2:30 o’clock by R. C. Williams. Minister. The following grandsons will serve as active pallbearers; Paul Lee, Howard Marlin, Charles Blankenship, Dean Blankenship, Billy Hensley, George Pirtle, and Ronnie Overton. Interment; Spring Hill Cemetery.
