Lorraine Ann (O'Brien) Karnicki, formerly of Northampton, passed away Dec. 4, 2011, quietly surrounded by family in her home in Monument Beach on Cape Cod. Lorraine was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Hartford, Conn., and grew up in Holyoke, where she attended high school and college.

She also lived in Greenfield and Washington, D.C. After marrying her late husband, Paul James Karnicki, she moved to Northampton, where she lived until 1974. Subsequently, they moved to Monument Beach. She then worked for the next 18 years for the U.S. Coast Guard Exchange System in an accounting and bookkeeping career until her retirement in 1992.

She was the eldest of four children, and was predeceased by her mother and father, Sylvia and Thomas E. O'Brien, and her brother, Stephen O'Brien.

She is survived by her sister and brother, Judith Fagan of Monument Beach and Thomas O'Brien of West Carrollton, Ohio; her youngest daughter, Helen-Ann Blankenship; her son, Damon Paul Blankenship, of Monument Beach; her eldest daughter, Sylvia Scarborough and her husband Johnny of Medway and their children: Johnny Jr., Keith, Sandra and Adam Scarborough. Lorraine also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was greatly loved by anyone who knew her.

Lorraine was especially intelligent and compassionate. She loved reading, especially the newspaper, and was very abreast of world events. She was an avid New York Times crossword connoisseur and loved a difficult challenge. She was always full of life with a positive attitude. She loved ballroom dancing and was always young at heart. She had a strong will to live; she was a courageous, beautiful, elegant, and dignified lady. She had great devotion to and a deep love for her family. She had a practical, logical mind, sharp wit, keen intuition, a great sense of humor and a loving heart. She was the perfect wife, mother, grandmother and best friend. She will be missed beyond words, and her absence will forever leave a huge hole in the hearts of those who love her. Lorraine was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist's Catholic Church in Pocasset.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date.

James Arlen Griffin Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Chatham, surrounded by his family on June 2, 2015, at the age of 81. He was born May 7th, 1934, the youngest son of Alexander Wayne and Elizabeth (Blankenship) Griffin.

Jim was a true native Cape Codder, born into and raised in one of Chatham's old fishing families. He graduated from Chatham High School, as one of the 22 members of the class of 1952. The summer after graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in active duty during the Korean War. During his years of service, he was awarded several honors including a Medal of Good Conduct and graduating 1st in his Radio School class. After tours in Japan and the Pacific, Jim returned to the United States and attended Boston Radio School. He spent the next few years working in marine electronics, and then began his career working as an electrician, and commercial fishing with family and friends.

"Uncle Jim", as he was affectionately known, was a lifetime member of the Chatham VFW, Post 8607. He spent over 40 years behind the bar keeping thirsty Vets happy, serving soldiers from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. He was everybody's favorite bartender, storyteller and friend. He reluctantly retired shortly after his 80th birthday.

An avid (and long-suffering) Red Sox fan, Jim loved his family, his garden and his annual deer hunting trips to Maine. He was a devout communicant of Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham. He and his wife Angie raised 4 children, always emphasizing the values of hard work, integrity, kindness and grace. He had a contagious laugh, a warm and welcoming personality, and made everyone he was introduced to feel like they were part of the family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Agnes (Angie) Kelleher Griffin, of Chatham, MA; three brothers; A. Wayne Griffin, Jr. of West Burke, VT; Robert E. Griffin (Joyce and Eunice-deceased) of Harwich, MA; Richard W. Griffin (Mary MacLellan) of Chatham, MA; and two sisters; Virginia B. Forgeron (Edward-deceased) of Chatham, MA and Joyce Gallup (John-deceased) of Melbourne, FL. He also leaves his four children, Julie (Griffin) Kay and her husband Martin Kay of Newton, MA; Carol (Griffin) LaBranche and her husband Peter LaBranche of Eastham, MA; son James Arlen Griffin, Jr. of Chatham, MA and daughter Amy Griffin of West New York, NJ. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren; Dylan James Kay, Caroline Paula Kay and Griffin "Fin" Robert LaBranche, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends, in particular, long-time fun-loving family friend Mary Frances Carey MacDonald.

A visiting hour for family and close friends will be held on Monday, June 8th from 9:30-10:30am at Nickerson Funeral Home in Chatham. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am at Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham. Burial will be at Peoples' Cemetery in Chatham.

Joseph M. Tierney, 88, of East Falmouth passed away peacefully at the JML Life Care Center in Falmouth on April 19, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. Joe was born on June 5, 1926 in Boston, son of the late Thomas and Mary Tierney.

Joe was the beloved husband of Carole Nervi Tierney, loving father of Susan York of El Paso and Karen Johnson of Avon, loving stepfather of Natalie Winsor of Raynham, Cheryl Young of Millis, Mark Young of North Attleboro, Richard Young of North Carolina, and Thomas Young of Rockland and the late Michael Young, He is also survived by two grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Joe also leaves his two sisters, Alice Blankenship of California and Geraldine Holmes of Florida.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Tierney of Weymouth and Arthur Tierney of Florida, and one sister, Jean Winkley of California.

Joe was a 1944 graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph. Joe joined the Navy in June of 1944 and served on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. After being honorably discharge from the Navy, Joe attended Wentworth Institute where he studied Drafting. He was employed by Northrop Grumman Corporation where he worked until his retirement. Joe belonged to many veteran and fraternal organizations. After retiring, Joe moved to the Cape where he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Carole, and their families and friends. Joe enjoyed traveling and was especially thrilled to visit Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.

Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at noon at St. Anthonys Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy., East Falmouth, MA. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.

Michele OBrien Garner Rouff, of Monument Beach, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2013. She was loved, cared for and comforted by her family who stayed by her side during her last hours. Michele was born in Ozark, Alabama in 1957, the daughter of William Garner and Judith OBrien.

She spent many years employed with the Plymouth and Brockton Family and Probate Courts until her retirement in 2011. Although she spent most of her years in Richmond, VA and on Cape Cod, she spent 6 months of her last year on Marco Island, FL | a place that became her healing, happy paradise. Micheles idea of a great day included simple pleasures like looking for the next perfect seashell on the beach, cooking for and entertaining family and friends, picking a bouquet of flowers or watching the sun set over the ocean.

Michele was predeceased by her father, and by her step-father, Richard Fagan.

She is survived by her mother and two sisters, Stephanie Kelly and husband Jeff Schlueter of Monument Beach, MA and Anne Niven of St. Louis, MO and two brothers, John Fagan and wife Christine of Virginia Beach, VA and James Fagan of Florida. Michele is also survived by her two sons, Zachary Smalley of Yarmouth, MA and Kenneth Rouff, Jr. of Monument Beach, as well as her former husband, Kenneth Rouff, Sr. of CO and by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to extend special thanks for the loving and compassionate care given by Micheles cousins, Sylvia Scarborough and Helen Ann Blankenship.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 1:00 pm at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy., West Falmouth. Burial is private.

Mrs. Geraldine "Gerry" A. Gray Raftery, passed away Monday, Dec. 22 at the Hillcrest Commons after a long illness. She was born in East Greenbush, on April 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Edna M. Mackey Gray.

Raised in Pittsfield, she graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Class of 1949. She continued her education and graduated from the former Berkshire Secretarial School in 1950. She was employed at the former General Electric Co. upon receiving her Secretarial Certification. Primarily, a "stay-at-home" parent for 20 years, she worked as a volunteer in the Cafeteria at the former Sacred Heart School for five years. Returning to the work force in 1972, she was employed by the former King's Dept. Store on the Pittsfield Lenox Rd. where she was known as the "Queen of Kings", and then later at Rite-Aid, retiring 1992. Gerry was an active communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality and was the proud recipient of their "Woman of the Year Award" in 1972.

Gerry was devoted to family and friends and the simple pleasures in life. She liked nothing better than to welcome everyone into her home with the 'endless pot' of coffee late into the evening. She enjoyed vacationing at Lake George and cruising to Bermuda. A practical joker, she had a warm smile, a great sense of humor, and a generous heart. Gerry will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was the beloved wife of 44 years of the late Richard P. Raftery, Sr., who died April 13, 1994.

Gerry is survived by two daughters, Kim Duclos and her husband, Bob, of Pittsfield, and Kathleen Raftery of Pepperell, Mass.; one son, Richard P. Raftery, Jr. and his wife, Judi, of Hatfield, Mass.; six grandchildren, Jaime Blankenship, Christopher Blankenship and Geneva Duclos, all of Pittsfield, Siobhan Morrison of Lexington, Ky., Ryan Raftery of Westfield, Mass. and Richie Raftery, U.S. Navy Gulfport, Miss.; four great-grandchildren; and her dear family friends, Judith Perrault of Pittsfield, and Joanne Ouellette of Pepperell, Mass.; as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Kathleen Raftery, who died in 1958; and her brother, Kenneth T. Gray, formerly of West Sand Lake, N.Y., who died in 2013.

Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the DeVanny-Condron Funeral Home with the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Paul K. Brozoski, 67, of Willis Street, Pittsfield, passed away at home July 30, 2015, after a brief illness. Paul was born Oct. 31, 1947, in Northampton, the son of the late John Brozoski and Dorothy (Karnicki) Brozoski of Northampton.

He was raised in Northampton and attended local schools. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1966 and furthered his education at Columbia Junior College in California, graduating in 1972 with an associate's degree in the arts. Paul worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with the Bureau of State Office Buildings in Pittsfield. He was a first class fireman and boilerman and worked at the East Street facility over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE).

Paul enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and was a member of the North American Fishing Club. He was an avid scuba diver and had completed numerous dives, both fresh and salt water. Paul was a familiar face in Berkshire sports, refereeing and umpiring numerous high school sports for many years including basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball.

Paul was predeceased by his father John. He leaves his mother Dorothy Brozoski of Northampton; three brothers, Stephen Brozoski and James Brozoski both of Northampton, and John of South Hadley and his children Jonel Gormely and her husband Patrick and their children, Casey, Jake and Kate Clogston, and her husband Pete and their daughter Darian; and his godson who he was very fond of, Jeffrey Vitols of Maryland. He also leaves several cousins including Helen Blankenship and her son Damon D'Guila who he was very fond of also, Sylvia Scarborough and her children Johnny, Jr., Keith, Sandra and Adam; and Grace Dzierzanowski, her daughter Gwen and husband Joseph Jamrog and their son Jonathan.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton followed by interment of his ashes in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.

Rose Farias, 94, formerly of Fall River, passed away on June 10th. She was the widow of George Farias. Born in Mattapoisett, MA, she was the daughter of the late Rose (Souza) and Alexander Bernardo.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked as an assembler for Wolf lamps. She enjoyed cooking portuguese foods for her nieces and nephews. She and her husband loved salt water fishing for many years.

She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and is survived by nieces and nephews Joy Levin, Rhonda Criscuolo, Patricia Correia, Andrea Blankenship and David Miguel, along with grand nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday, June 18th at 9:30am with a Service to commence at 10am in the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St., Fall River, MA. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Eleanor (Kowalski) Fitzpatrick, "Lee", age 93, of Somerset died February 24, 2012. She was the wife of the late William Vincent Fitzpatrick. Born and raised in Fall River, she moved to Somerset 52 years ago.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick worked at the former Firestone Tire and Rubber in Fall River for several years. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1936, served in the United States Military both with the WAC's and WAVE's during World War II, and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Somerset.

Surviving: a daughter Dolores M. Blankenship of Somerset, 2 granddaughters: April L. Lynch and Audra Bouchard, 1 great grandson Cameron Lynch, 1 sister and several nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home Of Memorial Tribute At Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St. Somerset. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.

Andover Townsman (MA) - April 19, 2017

Mary (Trohubliak) Manock of Andover passed away at the Academy Manor Nursing Center in Andover on Sunday afternoon, April 16, 2017. She was 89 years old. Born in Ethelbert, Manitoba, she was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Nellie (Hawrysh) Trohubliak.

She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her adored animals, and helping anyone who was in need. She came from a rough upbringing, but still managed to be so full of life that she made you smile and laugh whenever you were in her presence. Her heart was one of rarest kind, full of love and loyalty for her family. She always put herself last to give the best to her loved ones no matter what the cost. She was a woman who would have given you the shirt off her back and then gave you money for food, that's the type of woman she was. Her spirit was so full of energy and spunk, often called a spit fire, you could not ignore it, and in fact it was contagious. She was a bold, charismatic woman who devoted her life for her family, and her love and spirit will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Mary was the mother of Cindy Blankenship of Dracut and the late Michael Blankenship. She was also the grandmother of Melissa O'Brien of West Lebanon, NH, and her dear great-grandchildren, Faith Merrill and Christian O'Brien.

Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.

Clarence W. (Bruce) Bryant, Jr., of Ipswich, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after his illness. He was the husband of the late Ann J. Bryant, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Born Dec. 10, 1928 in Lynchburg, Va., he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Florence J. (Johnson) Bryant.

He retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Master Sergeant in the Military Police Corps after over 20 years of service, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Army Commendation award with oak leaf cluster (2nd award), and numerous Theater and Campaign awards with battle stars. Upon retirement, he was employed by the former Ann & Hope Store and Zayre's, followed by many years as the shoe department manager at the former Hill's Family Store in Ipswich. He was also recognized for his work with the implementation of the Enhanced 911 system in Ipswich and Rowley. Bruce was an active member of First Church in Ipswich, and served on many committees and boards. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and tennis with his late wife.

Bruce is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David B. and Debra Bryant of York, Pa.; his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Norman Colter of Ipswich; his son and daughter-in-law, Dana B. and Judy Bryant of Epping, N.H.; his grandchildren, Kara Lynn Bryant of York, Pa., Shannon and Heather Colter of Ipswich, and Jonathan and Daniel Bryant of Epping, N.H.; his sister, Norma Jean Blankenship of Lynchburg, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Samuel.

His memorial service will be held at First Church in Ipswich on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m.

Sammie “Sissy” Gail Blankenship, age 68, of Lynn, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away September 1, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Aileen Mullins. She was a wonderful, caring and loving person who always put others before herself. She will be missed by many.

Sammie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Joetta and Dan Silva of Saugus, her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Sue Mullins of Stoneham, many nieces and nephews, among them, Edward Mullins, who she raised, great nieces and nephews, cousins and an aunt. She was the sister of the late K. Quinton Mullins, and the late Timothy Mullins.

Sherry Ann Fiske, 62, of 34 Bacon St., Orange, died (March 2, 2012) at home after a courageous 4+ year battle with cancer. Sherry was born in Gardner on Nov. 13, 1949 to the late William Charles MacEwen and Patricia Ann (Taintor) Parker.

She grew up in Phillipston and Athol and graduated from Athol High School in 1967. Sherry was the co-owner of Sherry & Diane Catering before becoming the Food Service Director of the Orange Elementary Schools. Prior to her retirement in June 2008, Sherry was an integral part in the innovation of new ideas in the school kitchens. Through grants and other creative means, she implemented an electronic ticketing system and free breakfast, farm to table, and summer feeding programs. She participated in conferences across the state to keep up on legislation and opportunities she could use to improve her programs. During employment, and even after retirement, she was often asked to consult with other food services directors so they could learn from her. She participated in the 20-mile Walk for Hunger several years in a row and enjoyed painting and participating in craft fairs with her friends as the 3 Sisters Crafters. She also enjoyed traveling, riding her motorcycle, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sherry was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Keith Fiske, and also by her first husband, Peter Softic. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Times spent with her family and friends were most important to Sherry.

She will be remembered and missed by her mother: Patricia A. Parker of Orange; her siblings: Diane Blankenship and her husband Brian of Athol, William MacEwen and his wife Fran of Brookville, PA, and Brian MacEwen of Petersham; her beloved children: Jodi A. Coverly and her husband Scott of Shrewsbury, Peter J. Softic and fiance Cindy Doyle of Athol, Marcy L. Kelley and her husband Paul of Leominster; her treasured grandchildren: Devon and Dawson Softic, Colin and Cali Laakso and Meghan and Sean Doyle, and several nieces and nephews. Additionally, she leaves her mother-in-law, Nancy Fiske; her stepson, William Fiske; her step-granddaughter, Chelsea Fiske, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

There will be no services Sherry chose to participate in the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School with the hope that she could contribute to the future of medical education and research.

Sarah Ann Verrett Lopez, 37, passed away the evening of April 22, 2017. Sarah was born in Lansing, Michigan, on November 1, 1979, and was the daughter of Timothy Verrett and Julie Palmer Roberts.

At a young age she moved to Anchorage, Alaska with her family for her father to start his law practice. Sarah was a free spirit and loved to travel. She lived in many parts of the United States, liking areas near the ocean best. Besides Anchorage, she lived in California, Texas, Hawaii for several years, Florida, and lastly Massachusetts.

Besides her parents, Sarah leaves her four children, Tristen C. Orloski and Hailey A. Orloski, of South Deerfield, her daughter Alexis Blankenship Davis, of Tacoma, Washington and her son Cameron of Florida. She also leaves her sister Nicole Verrett and bother Chris Verrett, both of Anchorage, AK and her partner Jamie Chapin of Bernardston, MA.

A memorial service will be held for Sarah on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wrisley Funeral Home in South Deerfield, MA.

He spent much of his childhood in Feeding Hills, MA. Prior to entering the Marines and serving in Vietnam, he graduated from Tech H. S. in Springfield where he played football. He later joined the Navy and served another 17 years before retiring and returning to Agawam. His favorite pastimes were enjoying his two dogs and playing golf. He was very proud of serving for his country both in the Marines and in the Navy. Most of all he will be remembered for his caring heart.

He was predeceased by his father Carl S. West and his mother Lucy West Blankenship.

He is survived by his son Jeffrey West, his former wife Nancy Rock West, his sister Irene West Thomas and husband Rene, his brother Carl Blankenship and wife Cecille, his niece Karen Taylor and family, his nephew Rob Thomas and family and many cousins.

An interment service will be held at 1 p.m. on June 14, 2017 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.

Anna E. (Hannigan) Evans, 88, a lifelong Indian Orchard resident, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in the Loomis House Nursing Center. She was born on June 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Edward P. and Julia E. (Armstrong) Hannigan.

Anna graduated from the former Sacred Heart High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was the Public Health Nurse for the Town of Ludlow and retired in 1985 after 16 years of service. She was also employed for several years in the emergency department at the former Ludlow Hospital. After retirement, Anna was the Outreach Coordinator for the Ludlow Senior Center. Anna was a communicant of the former St. Matthews Church, Indian Orchard, and was very active in the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Pine Point Golden Agers.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, John A. Evans in 1985; and a daughter, Dianne Hansen in 1992.

She is survived by her three children, Joanne Blankenship of Tewksbury, John A. Evans and his wife Susan of Pasadena, CA, and Carolyn Veale and her husband Daniel of Ware; two sisters, Thelma Scannell of Sagamore Beach, MA, and Rita Vanderveer of Boulder, CO; nine grandchildren, Amy and Alan Blankenship, Lindsay Evans, Lauren and Molly Hansen, and Shanna, Daniel Jr., Kayla and Alyssa Veale; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20th beginning at 10 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd., with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., both in Springfield.

Dorothy (Karnicki) Brozoski, 89, of Fruit Street, Northampton, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Highview at Northampton. Born Nov. 21, 1925, in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Slabinska) Karnicki.

Dorothy was educated in Northampton schools and was a graduate of Northampton High School. She worked at Miss Florence Diner for many years before working at Smith College in dining services. She was a communicant of the former St. John's Cancius Church in Northampton. Dorothy enjoyed bowling at the Canal Lanes in Southampton.

She is survived by her three sons, John Brozoski of South Hadley, and James Brozoski and Stephen Brozoski both of Northampton; her grandchildren Jonel Gormely and her husband Patrick and their children Casey and Jake Gormley, and Kate Clogston and her husband Peter and their daughter Darian Clogston; her nieces and nephews Sylvia "Pidgie" Scarborough and her husband Johnny and their children Johnny, Jr., Keith, Sandra and Adam, and Helen A. Blankinship and her son Damon; her cousins Gwen Dzierzanowski and her husband Joe Jamrog, her son Jonathan and her mother-in-law Grace Dzierzanowski, Irene Slabinski and her children Teka Bartter, Brenda Fuller and her husband Tom, and Brett Slabinski, and Joan and Dick Slabinski and their children Bruce, Peter and Rick Slabinski.

Dorothy was predeceased by her son Paul Brozoski, her brother Paul Karnicki and his wife Lorraine and her cousin Robert Slabinski.

Dorothy's funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

All friends of Dr. Jane Blankenship of Pelham, recipient of the Chancellor's Gold Medallion for Distinguished Faculty Teaching, are invited to a celebration of her life Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 1:45 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Marriott Conference Center, 11th floor of the campus center, Amherst.

She is a nationally recognized scholar in political and contemporary rhetoric, and the preeminent interpreter of the philosophers and literary critics, Kenneth Burke, who died in 1993, and Everett Lee Hunt of "the Cornell School" of the new discipline of communication, who died in 1984.

Born May 22, 1934, in Huntington, West Virginia, Jane would now be 81 years old. She passed April 24, 2015, in the Holyoke VNA Hospice, [Hampden Co., MA] from complications of her single-car crash, from which she never fully recovered in 2008.

Friday's secular celebration will feature appropriate live music, anecdotes by anyone who wishes to speak, appetizers and beer and wine. Memorabilia from both her home study and Machmer Hall office in the department of communication will be on display.

She is survived by her life partner of 28 years, Dr. Maureen Williams of Northampton, also a retired professor.

Ralph moved to Hopkinton as a young man and worked as a painter until he retired. He enjoyed reading, fishing, horticulture and solitude.

He is survived by his sister, Charlotte M. Natyniak of N. Smithfield, R.I.; many nieces and nephews; his former wife, Christina Poirier, and her family; as well as many friends and neighbors.

Reverend Richard B. Brown III, 82, of Medway died March 5 at Riverbend of South Natick [Middlesex Co., MA]. He was the husband of Marilyn (Leggee) Brown. Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, September 19, 1930, the son of the late Richard B. Brown II and Harriette (Hunneman) Brown, he grew up in Braintree, Massachusetts, moved to Bedford, Massachusetts, and has lived in Medway for the past 32 years.

He was a graduate of Northeastern University, class of 1957, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked ay Sylvania and then GTE Sylvania for 30 years. Hegraduated from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge in 1989 with a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church, Diocese of Massachusetts in 1990. He served St. Mark Church in Riverside, Rhode Island for 3 years and St. Martin's in New Bedford for 8 years. As a retired Episcopal Priest he did supply ministry in many Episcopal churches in the Medway area. His interest was varied from bee keeping to gardening, canoeing and fishing. He even took up scubadiving as ayoung man.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Russell Brown and his wife Becky of Denham Springs Louisiana, Carl Brown and his wife Kelly of Jackson, Wyoming, Kathryn Brown of Medwayand Teresa Proctor and her hus band Michael of Medway. He is also survived by two stepdaughters Jeanne Coffey and her husband of Brendan of Newburyport and Kate Ducey and her husband Mark of South Berwick, Maine. He is also survived by his sister Amy Davidson-Moore of Braintree and his nephew Andrew Davidson of Alton, New Hampshire. His greatest joy and delight in retirement were in his 8 grandchildren, Travis and Lucas Brown, Douglas and Thomas Proctor, Carter and Eva Ducey, Lila and Phoebe Coffey and Stepgrand chidlren, Madison, Mason and Marlie Blankenship.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday March 9 in Christ Episcopal Church, School Street Medwayat 11:00.

She was the sister of the late Charlotte M. Sullivan.

Born Sept. 11, 1933 in Dorchester, a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret M. (Queen) Sullivan. Lorraine worked as production supervisor for Ocean Spray Cranberries, retiring after 30 years and was an avid fan of the Red Sox.

Irma Natalie (Goudey) Blankenship age 95 of Scituate passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12th at Carleton Willard Village in Bedford [Middlesex Co., MA] where she resided for the past 4 years. Born in Brookline on January 7th, 1919, she was the daughter of the late W. H. Russell and Melva W. (Porter) Goudey.

She was the wife of the late Elwood A. Blankenship of Scituate, well known local artist and graphic designer. Irma attended Brookline High School and Cushing Academy graduating in 1936. She attended Smith College, graduating in 1940, earning a bachelor's degree in music. Irma married and settled in Scituate where she resided for 61 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed music, poetry, gardening and her animals.

Surviving family members include her sons Peter E. Blankenship and his wife Susan of Carlisle, MA and Mark R. Blankenship and his wife Beth of Roswell, GA, her grandchildren Jared C. Blankenship and wife Melissa of Liberty, MO and Derek M. Blankenship and wife Michele of Dallas, TX, and her great-grandchildren Sarah, Audrey and Grace Blankenship. She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Gabriele Blankenship of Tulsa, OK.

John L. Rozen, 72, of Wareham, passed away Friday, March 15, with his family at his side. He was the husband of Patricia (Jacobsen) Rozen of Wareham. John was born in Warwick, R.I., the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (McDermott) Rozen.

He attended Randolph public schools and graduated from Randolph High School. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, he later worked for Butler Automatic Machine, a paper splicing company, where he started as an assembler and retired as the plant manager. He took over his fathers hobby, Ross Fabrics and grew it into a local textile distributorship. John was a true and loving family man first and enjoyed the neighborhood tournament horseshoe games. He was an avid Red Sox fan, New England Sports fan and loved to dig quahogs and clams.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Cecelia Sissy Nunzio of Carver, Maria "Re" Avery of Carver, John L. Rozen Jr. of Carver, Rick Rozen of Fall River, Corinne Blankenship of Carver and Matthew Rozen of Hingham. He was the brother of Cecelia Hilchy of Florida, Albert Rozen of Wareham and Rick Rozen of Situate. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is sadly missed by his faithful Beagle Fives; and John was also the brother of the late Joseph and William Rozen.

Justin Daniel Reynolds, 36 of Boston MA died Saturday August 6th in Boston. Justin was born March 10, 1980 in Bowling Green KY. He was the son of R. D. and Sharon Oliver of Scottsville, KY, and Danny Reynolds and Deborah Stephens of Bowling Green, KY.

He was a member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Roxbury MA. He graduated from Beechwood High School in Ft. Mitchell, KY. Then he went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University and received his masters from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, MA. Justin was involved with Teen Challenge of New England for a number of years. He never met a stranger and he impacted so many lives, and was loved by everyone that knew him. The family is comforted by the fact that Justin is no longer suffering and that he is in the arms of his Heavenly Father.

Justin was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Asher and Mervin Reynolds and his maternal grandparents Rev. Harold and Mrs. Mildred Moore; Aunts, Nancy Hatfield Thomas and Linda Langley.

He is survived by his sisters, Christy Hall (Jason) and Lori Wilson (Mike). His step brothers, Victor Stephens(Amanda) and Jeremy Stephens (Jennifer). He is also survived by several aunts and uncles; David Reynolds (Gayle), Betty Patrick (Ron), Pat Howard, Janette Meyer (Jim), Cheryl Blankenship (Hughie), Nathan Moore, and Don Oliver. He is also survived by numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:00 at First Baptist Church in Bowling Green. A private ceremony with immediate family will be held for the spreading of Justin's ashes.

Curtis D. Martin, 51, of 33 Walnut Street, Fitchburg, MA, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2018 at his home. Mr Martin was born January 3, 1967 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Robert Martin and the late Sydney (Stark) Martin.

Mr. Martin graduated Concord-Carlisle High School in 1985 and had owned and operated Curtis Martin General Carpentry since 1991. He lived in Massachusetts since 1982, and previously had lived in Texas, New York and Louisiana.

He was never married, but was predeceased by longtime girlfriend, Debbie (Hyder) Vittum. She passed December 26, 2016.

Survivors include his father, Robert Martin as well as his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Stacey and Dan Blankenship of Sugarland, Texas and Hillary and Mark Wainwright of Nashua, New Hampshire, three nieces and two nephews, Karis Blankenship, Hannah Blankenship, Crissa Wainwright, Travis Martin and Seth Blankenship . He also leaves behind one great nephew, Jayden Bedard.

Mr. Martins remains will be buried in New York at later date.

Karen H. (Bordwell) Aucoin, 58, died Sunday, December 28, 2014, after being stricken ill at home. Karen was born in Schenectady, NY, daughter of the late Kenneth Bordwell, and was raised in Chelmsford, MA. She was a graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, Class of 1974.

She is survived by the loves of her life, her husband of 40 years, Joseph M. Aucoin, and their nine children: Jade C. Lally and her husband, Patrick, Justin K. Aucoin, Taylor L. Aucoin, Tess L. Aucoin, Noah P. Aucoin, Samuel B. Aucoin, Hadley S. Aucoin, Zoe S. Aucoin, and Joseph M. Aucoin, all of Lancaster; three grandchildren: Jack, Kenneth, and Lexi Lally; her mother, Mary (Tariello) Bordwell, of Wake Forest, NC; a brother, Richard Bordwell, and his wife, Donna, of VA; and a sister, Susan Blankenship, and her husband, Arnold, of NC.

An incredibly talented artist, Karen shared her gifts with the world in a variety of mediums, from glass, to wood, oil and watercolor painting, pottery, and beyond. A true history buff, who knew a tremendous amount about the area, especially the Town of Lancaster, her family considered her to be the “unofficial” town historian. She was a kind, considerate, compassionate, and loving woman, who cared deeply about others, and all of humankind. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Karen’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. Burial will follow in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster.

William H. Blankenship, 71 years old, of Leominster, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, [Worcester Co., MA].

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Penny E. (Monk) Blankenship, sons Kevin Blankenship and his wife Laurie of Glen Allen, VA and Ryan Blankenship and his wife Nicole of Minnesota, daughter Beth MacBrian of Leominster, sister Jeanne Blinkinsop of Barrington, NH, sister-in-law Martha Bice of Florida, brother-in-law Mike Woodworth of New Hampshire, brother-in-law Bruce Monk and his wife Margit of Hudson, NH, grandchildren Kristine MacBrian, William Blankenship, Henry Blankenship, Magnus Blankenship and Anna Blankenship, nieces and nephews Susan Martin and her husband Geoff, Sharon Sharifi and her husband Saba, Mark Westphal and his wife Donna, Adam Woodworth, Emily Woodworth, Kenneth Bice and his wife Sheila, Robin Walker and her husband Ivan, Cheryl Bice, Lynn Treadway and her husband Tyler, Sheila O’Malley and her husband Matt and Brett Monk and his wife Lynne, many beloved cousins, great nieces and nephews and dear friends, especially Terry, his “partner in crime” at church.

He was predeceased by his sister Marjorie Woodworth and brother-in-law Fred Bice.

William was born on January 23, 1943 in Beverly, son of Perry and Edith (Blackledge) Blankenship and had lived in Leominster since 1969.

He graduated from Dover High School in Dover, NH and Bentley College in Waltham. He had worked as a Staff Accountant for General Electric in Fitchburg for 30 years, before retiring in 1998. William was a 45 year member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Leominster and served as the church treasurer for the past 43 years. He also served on the Church Vestry for many years. William had been the treasurer of the Leominster Pop Warner Football League while his sons played in the league.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11 am in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 60 West Street, Leominster. Burial will be at a later date.

Mrs. Patricia H. (Hayes) Wagner, 76, of Milford, MA died Sunday (March 13, 2016) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, [Suffolk Co.,] MA after an illness. Mrs. Wagner was born in Milford, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Helen (Callery) Hayes.

She was the beloved wife of Earl C. Wagner Jr. She was a graduate of the former St. Marys Catholic High School, Class of 1957 and also a graduate of St. Vincents Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1960. Mrs. Wagner had been employed as a young woman as a charge nurse in the emergency room at St. Vincents Hospital in Worcester, MA. Later in life she was an independent seamstress and dress maker with her own business entitled Irish Lace on Grove. She was also an accomplished cake decorator. Mrs. Wagner was a lifelong resident of Milford and an active communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church where she served as an Organizer & Teacher of Eucharistic Ministries for over 20 years.

Along with her beloved husband of 53 years, she is survived by her 5 Children: Earl C. Wagner III and his wife Brenda of Milford, MA, Joseph D. Wagner and his wife Lynn of Douglas, MA, Stephen M. Wagner and his wife Tracy of Uxbridge, MA, Monica A. Wagner-Blankenship of Milford, MA and John P. Wagner and his wife Allison of Bellingham, MA; 9 Grandchildren: 5 Siblings: Sheila Toomey of Arlington, MA, Felice ORourke of Milford, MA, Kathleen Haran of Worcester, MA, Joseph Hayes of Milford, MA and Dr. David Hayes of Dennis, MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Her funeral will be held Thursday (March 17th) at 10am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford, MA. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Milford MA.

Mr. Robert D. Mullaney, 82, of Upton MA, died Wednesday morning (January 28, 2015) at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Northbridge, MA, after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Janice M. (McDonough) Lavallee. Mr. Mullaney was born in Auburn MA, the son of the late Patrick and the late Marguerite (Rivers) Mullaney.

He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale MA, at Noremac Corporation located in Hopkinton MA and finally at Honematic Corporation located in Boylston MA.

Along with his beloved wife, he is survived by 1 Daughter: Robin, wife of Timothy O'Hearn of Bradenton FL; 2 Sons: John Mullaney of Worcester MA and Paul Mullaney and his wife Carrie of Worcester MA; 6 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; his 6 Siblings: Gertrude, wife of Kenneth Votour of Auburn MA, William Mullaney and his wife Margaret of Dillsburgh PA, John Mullaney of Winchendon MA, Thomas Mullaney of Worcester MA, Michael Mullaney of FL, Patricia, wife of William Blankenship of Worcester MA; also many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Services, with Military Honors, will be held Monday (February 2nd) at 11:30AM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA.

Marguerite (Mullaney) Spencer, 87, of Worcester, died on Tuesday, May 6th in the Millbury Healthcare Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Spencer was married to Robert O. Spencer, who died in 1999.

She is survived by a son, Kevin Spencer and his wife Jean of Worcester; a daughter, Shirley Mandella and her husband Tom of Worcester; 5 brothers, William Mullaney of PA, Robert Mullaney of Upton, MA, John Mullaney of Winchendon, MA, Thomas Mullaney of Worcester, MA and Michael Mullaney of Florida; 2 sisters, Gertrude Votour of Auburn and Patricia Blankenship of Worcester; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Marguerite was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Patrick and Marguerite (Rivers) Mullaney and is also predeceased by 2 daughters, Roberta Spencer who died in 2010 and Christine Laplume who died in 2014. She is also predeceased by 2 brothers, James and Larry Mullaney.

Mrs. Spencer worked at the former Brown Shoe Company and also was a day care provider and an Outreach Worker for the elderly though the Age Center of Worcester. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.

The funeral will be held Friday, May 9th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery.

Patricia A. (Mullaney) Blankenship, 70, of Worcester, lost her long fight with cancer.

She leaves behind a much loved husband and friend, William R. Blankenship; one son, Richard P. Schofield and his wife Meg of Whitinsville; a step son, Kurt W. Blankenship and his wife Lisa of Wiesbaden, Germany; three grandsons; three great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.
