Eppinger, Larry Edward, 67, of Alpena died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.He is survived by two daughters, Mary Tranelli of New York, and Irene (Tony) Griffis of Tennessee; one son, Fred (Shelly) Blankenship of Alpena; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Ward (Peg) of Clio; sister, Betty Porritt of Flint; and several nieces and nephews; children, Tammy Eppinger, Julie Eppinger, and Joseph Eppinger.

Visitation will be at the Bannan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday at Alpena Free Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Shane Bengry officiating.

David Lakin Blankenship, Bay City, Michigan was promoted to Glory on June 27, 2005 to be with the Lord and be reunited with relatives and friends who have gone before. He was born in Ashland, KY on August 26, 1936 to the late Elmer and Bertha (Richie) Blankenship.

David was an electrician and electrical engineer and was retired from Wright/K. He was a very active member of the Salvation Army. He was a member of Wenona Lodge No. 256 F. & A.M. and he was a past patron of Bay Chapter No. 219 O.E.S.

He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce K. Caldwell, whom he married April 3, 1964. He also leaves 5 children: Susan Horner, Deborah (Brian) Silverthorn, David (Linda) Blankenship, Daniel (Sandy) Blankenship and Kathleen Blankenship; as well as 15 grandchildren: Melissa, Christa, Aaron, Jacob, Matthew, Nicole, Jennifer, Michael, Alexandra, Ashley, Matthew, Charles, Marina, Christy and Zachary; 5 great- grandchildren: Timothy, Jade, Anthony, Shyann and Faith; a sister, Mabel Chapman; a brother, Herbert Blankenship; and special friends, the Ballor Family. A grandson Adam preceded him in death.

Funeral and committal service will be held at 1:30 pm., on Thursday at the Salvation Army Church. Private burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 pm, Wednesday. Penzien - Steele Funeral Home 608 N. Madison Avenue Bay City, Michigan

Daniel Lloyd "Hoss" Blankenship, 40, died Saturday in Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.

Survivors include a daughter, Samantha Blankenship at home; sons, Justin and Kyle Blankenship, both at home; parents, Donald and Sally Blankenship Sr. of Eau Claire; sisters, Brenda (Ron) Shaw of St. Joseph and Lisa (Vince) Licari of Jamestown, MI; and brothers, Donald (Mandie) Blankenship Jr. and Andrew (Kelly) Blankenship, both of Eau Claire.

Robert Spencer Blankenship, age 75 of Battle Creek, ML died Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, [Kalamazoo Co., MI]. He was born March 29, 1928 in Lansing, Michigan to Jake and Ida (Butts) Blankenship.

He moved to Bat tle Creek in 1953 and has lived here since that time. He was a 1946 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School, attended Michigan State College and was a graduate of I.C.S. School of Architecture. 'From 1949 until 1953 he was employed by Clark Ackley, Lansing Architect. He moved to Battle Creek in February 1953 and worked as project supervisor and estimator for his own architectural woodwork company, Custom Mill-work, Inc. and was Corporate President for 18 years. He served in the Michigan State Troops (Home Guard) during the last part of World War II as a Corporal. He joined the regular Army on September 26, 1946 and served until March 1948. He was a member of the Palace Guard in Seoul, Korea serving the Russia-American Joint Commission, prior to the Korean Conflict.

As a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church he served on the Diocesan Council Parish Council, School Board, CCD Committee and taught CCD six years. He was also Eucharistic Minister and Altar Server. He was a member of the former (YMCA) Y's Men's Club and was its president in 1956. He helped organize the Michigan Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Institute and served as vice-president and treasurer. ", He was a former member of the Battle Creek Exchange Club. He was member of the American Legion Oscar Brady Post 298 and served on their Honor Guard at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Clifford and Albert.

On August 28, 1948 he married the former Janet Louise Smith in Lansing, who survives. They were married for 54 years and were blessed with four children who survive. Two daughters : Linda L. (Richard A.) Brown of Traverse City and Carol J. (Kenneth E.) Crawford of Orlando, FL; two sons: Larry S. (Allison A) Blankenship of Naples, FL. & Paul R. Blankenship of Elkhart, IN; five grandchildren; three brothers: Harold C. of Lansing, Roland D. of Newaygo and Melvin A. of Scottsdale, AZ; one sister Ruth M. Dalton of Las Vegas, NV.

The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at Joseph Catholic Church with Father James S. O'Leary officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Terry Michael Blankenship, 48, of Battle Creek, died Friday, February 18, 2005, at his home in Battle Creek, after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born June 20, 1996 in Battle Creek, beloved son of James G. Blankenship and Joan Faye (Johnson) Blankenship of Battle Creek.

              He graduated from Pennfield High School in 1974 where he was gifted in Mathematics and played second base on the district champion baseball team. An avid fisherman, she also enjoyed camping the outdoors, and the Detroit Tiger baseball. He dearly loved his dog Gutsy, his constant companion for 16 years. He was an accomplished guitar player, singer and song writer. He was formerly employed as a switchman at the Grand Trunk Wester Railroad.

              Terry’s life was one of extraordinary courage and integrity, and for this his family is forever grateful and proud.

              He is preceded in death by his infant brother; Joseph Claude Blankenship.

Terry is survived by his parents; sisters; Sandy (Sam) Towers of Battle Creek and Connie (Rick) Sveller of East Lansing; brother; James S. (Chris) Blankenship of Battle Creek, nephews and nieces Ryan, Matt, Shane and Brandi and family.

              Private family services to be held. Burial will be at the hicks cemetery in Pennfield township, Michigan. Bachman Hebble Funeral Services.

A service of remembrance will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Kempf's Funeral Home, Michigan, with visitation there from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. She'll be brought to Hall Funeral Home, Martin with visitation from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service is 11 a.m. on Monday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greasy Graveyard.

Reba "Mamaw" Blankenship, age 82, of Marshall, Michigan, formerly of Kite, Kentucky, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, [Washtenaw Co.,] Michigan. She was born August 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Wid and Dina Johnson Vance.

She is survived by her daughter: Wilma (James) Coleman of Marshall, one son Rev. Lester (Barbara) Blankenship of Lake Orion; daughters: Carol Wyatt and Brenda (Al) Pace all of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

A service of Remembrance was conducted Thursday at Kempf Funeral Home in Michigan. Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 5, at 11 a.m., at Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Kentucky. Burial followed in Greasy Graveyard next to her husband, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.

William James Blankenship, age 76 of Farwell died on August 31st at the MidMichigan Medical Center - Clare. He was born on November 6, 1923 in Olean, N.Y. the son of Thomas & Theressa (Lorang) Blankenship.

Bill was united in marriage to Patricia Wheeler on May 15, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan.

Bill was a member and officer of the following: Corning Lodge F & Am #335, Past Master of St. Andrews #588, Past Master of Corning #335, Member of Scottish Degree Team, Elf Kaurafeh Temple, Vacationland Shrine Club, Consistory & Past Patron of Birmingham #220 O.E.S. He also served as a Deacon of Rosebush Presbyterian Church Rosebush, Michigan.

His wife Patty, one daughter Gail & Joseph Wauldron of Detroit and one son Steven & Kathy Blankenship of Big Rapids, MI survive him. One brother Donald and Toi Blankenship of Tuscon, Arizona and sister Nancy A. Blankenship of Northville, MI. Grandchildren; Bill, Pete, Chris, Jim and Bill. One granddaughter Gwen Koontz and many other relatives and friends.

His parents and one sister Katherine precede him in death.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Bill will be held on Saturday September 9th from the Rosebush Presbyterian Church at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Mary Anne Evans-Justin officiating.

Judy A. Blankenship - February 2, 1945  -  December 28, 2009

Judy passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at age 64. Judy was born and raised in Bath, where much of her family still remains.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Clare Vail and sister Betty Stull.

Surviving are her husband; John, children Brenden, Jennifer and Rayshelle(Rich) Darr, grandchildren Jon, Brad, Justine,Jessica, Cole and Reilly, her mother; Josephine Vail and siblings Claude (Shirley) Vail, Leonard Stull, Joyce (Glenn) Svendsen, Nancy Miller, Hewitt (Barbara) Vail and Martha (Dan) Sherman.

Judy Loved summers at the cottage and taking care of her flowers. Mostly, she spent her time taking care of everyone she cared about. Those who have been touched by Judy, will miss her deeply.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Laingsburg Chapel with Joe Fortino officiating. Burial will take place in Reed Cemetery.

Joseph F. Ralph Jr. of St. Johns, Michigan died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the age of 68. He was born May 4, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Joseph F. Sr. and Catherine J. (Thorne) Ralph.

He was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1960. After an honorable discharge from the Marines Corps he became manager of the Public Square Office for Household Finance in Cleveland. A short time later Joe became Vice President of Credit Card Operations for Continental Bank in Cleveland. In 1969 Joe moved to Michigan and entered the furniture business. He was with Riverside Furniture for the majority of his career and achieved the President's Award for Salesman of the Year during his tenure. Joe was an assistant Boy Scout Leader, enjoyed horseback riding, was an avid reader of the classics and loved to walk with his dog Harley Ann.

On February 16, 1985 he married Sally Watkins and she survives him. Also surviving is one son, Joseph Vincent Ralph of Grand Rapids; two daughters, Jeanne (Steve) Blankenship of Temperance, MI, Julie (John)

Watkins of DeWitt; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Andrea, Mark, Erica, Rich, and Emberly; great granddaughter, Allyana; four sisters, Fran Schweck of Pembroke Pine, FL, Kathleen Ralph of Indianapolis, IN, Nan (Jim) Reid of

Scottsdale, AZ., Susan (Marcus) Dunham of Port Clinton, OH; three brothers, Mike (Janet) Ralph of Indianapolis, IN, Jim (Sonja) Ralph of Cincinnati, OH, Tom (Vickie) Ralph of East Lansing.

Cheryl J. Moggo of St. Johns, Michigan died suddenly Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the  age of 53. She was born July 20, 1956 in St. Johns the daughter of Donald and Glenna  (Jaquish) Wise.  Cheryl was a graduate of Sexton High School, Class of 1974, collected teddy bears, was a cancer survivor and participated annually in the Relay for Life and she gave the  Gift of Life, by becoming a tissue donor. Cheryl was a customer service supervisor for Quest  Software in St. Johns.

On February 7, 1992 she married Alan Moggo and he survives her. Also Miller of St. Johns, Stacie Collins of Grand Haven, Mandy Wilson of Ovid, Tina Moggo and Alan Moggo II both of St. Johns and Jonathan Moggo (Rebecca Miller) of Ovid; three grandchildren, Michael, Jordyn and Makhayla Yockey; her mother Glenna Cressman; brothers and sisters, Efie (David) Bond, Terry Wise, Frank (Bobbi Jo) Cressman, Felice Blankenship, Doug (Freda) Wise, Richard (Chrissy) Wise, Donnie (Tracy) Wise, Lisa (Tim) Jasmine, Barb (Brent) Jason, Mike Wise, Linda (Wendell) Elliott, Tracy (Doug) Schnieder. Edith was born October 3, 1926 in Washington D.C. to the late Eustace and Bertha (Griffith) Hewitt. She had many fond memories of vacationing in the South and also enjoyed music and theatrical productions.

Edith was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and is survived by her husband of 57 years, James D., children Linda (Ray), Susan, Lori, Brent (Sherry), grandchildren Aaron, Beth, Jenny, Jana, Travis, Trenton, Hunter, Jamie, and Lucas. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Louise Hewitt and Alice (Jim) Keesling.

Edith was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

The Family will receive friends Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery Grand Ledge.

Blankenship, William "Bill" - Of Burton, age 66, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Richard Brennan officiated. Per Bill's wishes cremation took place following the service.

Bill was born in Burton, Michigan on June 13, 1943, the son of Herbert and Roxie (Cameron) Blankenship. Bill attended the West Flint Church of God. He was an original member of the Burton Eagles Aerie #3814 since 1979. Bill loved NASCAR, playing cards and enjoyed his many years with his close friends at Brown's Landing. He also enjoyed "swapping lies" with his buddies at Donna's Donuts. Bill retired from General Motors Buick Motor Division in 1996, after 33 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599.

Surviving are wife, Leila; two children, Todd Stantiford of Flint, Shannon and husband Dave Wagner of Kalkaska; grandson, Tripp Wagner; sister, Diane and husband Bob Fortune of Burton; father-in-law, Roy Kellow of Flint; several nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marvin and Ray; two sisters, Virginia Besant and Barbara Worsham. Bill's family would like to give a special thank you to his nurse, Holly from Genesys Home Care and Genesys Hospice Care Center for all their care and support in Bill's final days.

Blankenship, Regina - Age 94, of Flint, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the home of her granddaughter Bonnie Nicholson in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware surrounded by family, Regina was born in Mount Carmel, PA, on July 5, 1915, the daughter of Stanley Wisniewski and Rose Brzezicki.

Her family moved to Flint where she attended All Saints Catholic School and Flint Northern High School. Regina made a career for herself at Genesee Memorial Hospital in the Finance Office, retiring after 25 years, prior to the hospital closing. Regina was always a very active member of St John Vianney Parish. After retirement she spent many years as a member of the Christian Service Committee where her talents and expertise were greatly valued. While Regina was able, she attended Mass daily and led the Rosary of Our Lady afterward. Regina moved from her dearly loved home on Tyrone Avenue to Rosehaven Manor where she enjoyed a wide variety of planned activities with old and new friends. Regina moved to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware with her granddaughter Bonnie earlier this year and loved to volunteer at the New Life Thrift Store, attend Mass and enjoy her great-granddaughters.

Surviving are her sister, Sister Rosita Wisniewski, SSJ-TOSF, daughter Rose Hopkins, son-in-law David Toth, Grandchildren include John and Ruth Hopkins, Bonnie Nicholson and Bill Spitzig, Alan and Lisa Hopkins, and Kent and Linda Russell. Dear Great-Grandchildren Jacob, Shelby, Rachel, Victoria, Connor, Todd, Sara Jo, Billy, Kyle, Courtney, and Brianna. Regina also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at St. John Vianney Church, 2415 Bagley St. with Father Tom Firestone officiating and Father Douglas Osborn offering the eulogy. Ronnie was born June 14, 1940 in Lamar, West Virginia the son of Woodrow Wilson  and Nannie Bell (McBride) Blankenship. He attended Fenton High School and was employed by General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1991. Ronnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Florida and the Fenton Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his daughter, Dana Snavely and husband Carl of Linden; grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Britni all of Linden; great-granddaughter, Kaydance expected in September; siblings, Eugene Blankenship and wife Barbara of Fenton, Oscar Blankenship and wife Patsy of North Carolina, Shirley Politte and husband E.G. of Swartz Creek, Mark Blankenship of Fenton and many nieces and nephews.

Curt was employed by ASI Asphalt and R & R Asphalt. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports, especially hockey and football. He was a loyal fan of his children's athletics, supported them and encouraged them every step of the way. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandson and brother. He will be missed dearly and remembered always.

Beatress Dellia "Bea" Stowe, 68, of Traverse City, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family, after a valiant fight with cancer and other illnesses. Bea was born in Pontiac on Jan. 24, 1941, the daughter of George and Florence (Blankenship) Burby. The family then moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., where Bea was raised.  Prior to her retirement, Bea worked in admissions at the former Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital and then Munson Community Hospital.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the ladies auxiliary of the American Military League, where she also served the various offices of the organization, and was a member of the Grand Traverse Area Veterans Association.  In her free time, she enjoyed her hobbies of traveling, reading, playing her hand-held games, playing with her grand and great-children and her dogs. Bea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great friend who will be missed by all.

Bea is survived by her best friend and husband of 17 years, Douglas Stowe; by her five children, Robert Lee Drake of Kansas City, Mo., Phyllis (Tim) Moeller of Sanford, Beckie (Dan) Mahoney of Cascade, Idaho, Kristina (William) Marks of Alma and Susan (Todd) Schaub of Kingsley; by Doug's children, Deloria (Ben) Buchan and Ellen (Rick) Montoya, all of Traverse City, Steve (Carol) Stowe of Lake Leelanau; a sister, Marion (Donald) Burtt; brothers, Ralph Burby and Chuck (Pat) Burby, all of Sault Ste. Marie; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George, Howard and Paul; a grandson, Mitchel; and a great-granddaughter, Destiny.

Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with Pastor David Gabel officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home.

Ronnie "Ron" Blankenship, 65, of Grawn, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008. He was born on Aug. 29, 1943 in Jellico, Tenn., the son of Luther and Rosetta (Lay) Blankenship. Ron attended school in Tennessee. At age 14, he started working in the coal mine. He later attended Auto Body School in Alpena. He owned an auto body shop and Country Auto Sales in Alabama, and then in Traverse City. He was passionate about cars and loved to restore old cars. Ron was a giving and generous person. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed music, playing guitar and singing country songs.

He is survived by his significant other, Robin Rickman; daughters, Wanda (Mark) Budzinski of Denver and Alisha Rickman of Grawn; son, Ron (Juanita Renaud) of Traverse City; stepson, Brandon Crist of Traverse City; siblings, Ken Blankenship, Wanda Brownell, Linda D'Alessio, Gary Blankenship, Carolyn (Ed) Denton; half-sister, Rosalie Satchwill; step-brothers and -sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Luther "Jr." Blankenship.

Eleanor Jean (Blankenship) Hart, loved wife, mom and grandma, passed away on May 10, 2006, after a four-year battle with multiple myeloma cancer.

Jean was married for 51 years to her "anchor", Joe, who survives her. Also surviving are their children, Joan (Jack) Boyko, Jayne (Jerry) Stenstrom, Jeanine (Dave) Meisner, and Joe (Jodi) Hart. She was a loving, supportive and giving grandma to Marissa, Tanner and Spencer Boyko; Abby Stenstrom; Mindy, Kaylin and Jake Meisner; and fellow Jedi Knight to Keith and Mitch Hart. Her grandkids will always remember her bingo games and egg hunts.

Jean was born on May 31, 1936 to Stanley and Clara Blankenship, in White Pigeon, Michigan. She graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1954 as class salutatorian, and held an associates degree in secretarial science. Jean was an accomplished percussionist and musician, studying at Interlochen and in the Ann Arbor Junior Symphony in high school. For 13 years she worked as a librarian in the Vicksburg Public Schools, establishing and directing their first elementary library program. She retired from North American Van Lines headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN, where she worked as corporate dispatcher. Jean loved to read and would visit the library almost every week. She instilled her gifts of caring and humor in her children and grandchildren. Her favorite expressions were "if you can't laugh about it, it must be serious," and "if you don't like it you can always return it." She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Jean's family will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Saturday at the Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the graveside in White Pigeon Cemetery, in White Pigeon, MI.

Lois was the devoted loving wife of James M. Blankenship for 61 years. Together they raised four children, Mary (Dennis) Anderson, James Robert Blankenship, Patricia (Derrell) Ellis, Brenda (Vernon) Chase; eight grandchildren, Cory (Christina) Blankenship, Jay (LeeAnn) Anderson, Katie Anderson, Mackenzie (Jorge) Santana, Andrea Lotterman, Clayton J. Chase, Kristopher Hesler, and Rebecca Blankenship; five great grandchildren, Caleigh, Cheyenne, William, Owen, Jazmyn; and special little friends, Jaxon and Jacob.

She leaves behind her dear friend and sister-in-law of 65 years, Mildred Hart; nephew, William (Kim) Hart and her niece, Judy (Michael) Hatter and their children; countless cousins, friends and treasured companions from card club, church and her neighborhood.

In addition to raising her family, she was an active member of the Disciples of Christ Church for 60 years. At various times in her life she worked for the U.S. Post Office, Chrysler Corp., Wurzburgs, and Meijers, Inc.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel with Rev. Raymond Gaylord officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.

She married James Blankenship Feb. 16, 1996, in Hillsdale and he survives. Tina was a graduate of Midtown High School in Hillsdale and was formerly employed as a nurse’s aide at Christ Center Homes in Hillsdale.

Besides her husband, James, Tina is survived by a daughter, Betty Sue, and a son, Brandon, both at home; her parents, Greg and Rose Olmstead of Morenci; a sister, Dawn Nichols of Camden; and a brother, Todd Olmstead of Camden.

Funeral service are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Rev. Dennis Owens and Wendel Blankenship officiating.  Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.

Mr. Konkel retired in 1990 after 25 years of employment with the Detroit Police Department. He was the owner and operator of County Line Catering for 15 years. He also worked security with Henry Ford Health Systems as an operation manager. He loved traveling and carpentry but his latest passion was baking. His family said he would be remembered for making the best cookies and desserts in town. He was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School in Detroit.

Carol A. Fiehn, 69, of Clinton Township, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at home. She was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Mount Clemens. Mrs. Fiehn was a homemaker. Her relatives said she created a beautiful home for her family and was a 100 percent loving wife and mother. Her favorite holiday was Christmas when celebrations included family gatherings, cookie baking, dinners, and her famous pumpkin bread, which she often shared with others as Christmas gifts. Her family said she decorated every area of the house, inside and out, for the special holiday.

Clarence Charles William Elliott, 83, a resident of Warren for 11 years, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Beebe, Quebec, Canada, to the late Charles Wilber and Nellie Shutt Elliott. He married Ada Blankenship on April 14, 1958, in Detroit. They lived in Detroit until moving to Warren 11 years ago. Mr. Elliott was semi-retired as an electrician. Family said he loved his church, the Red Wings, walking and was an avid reader. Family said he was a humble man of God with integrity and was a truth seeker who was loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Ada; children, Linda (Thomas) Masty, Gary (Lynne), Mary (Mazin) Janbou; stepdaughter, Donna (Peter) Gilbert; grandchildren, Ivy Elliott, Eric and Ashley Wynn, Matthew, Mariah and Michael Janbou; and great-grandchildren, Cierra, Kaylee, Curtis and Tiffany. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 4571 John R., Troy, Monday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.

Donald L. Hacker, 103, of Warren and Holiday, Fla., died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, in Holiday. He was born Aug. 28, 1904, in Utica. Mr. Hacker owned and operated a bar in Warren for 30 years. He was active in the Lions Club and a lifelong member of Warren St. Paul Church of Christ.

Steve was raised in Farwell and graduated from Farwell Area High School. He married Kathleen McMahon July 17, 1981 in Beverly Hills, MI. Steve had been employed as a salesman for Kramer Foods, Viviano Wine Company and most recently Imperial Beverage at the time of his accident where he was an outstanding salesman for the months of April, May and June of 2008. Steve was a kind, compassionate, outstanding man who loved his family and friends. He loved sports and music. Riding his Harley motorcycle was his passion. Steve always thought of others and thought of ways to help them.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Kathy of Big Rapids, two sons Jim and Bill Blankenship of Big Rapids, his mother Patricia Blankenship of Farwell, one sister Gayle and husband Joesph G. Blankenship-Wauldron of Detroit and their children: William, Peter and Christopher, brother-in-law: Robert and his wife Patti McMahon of Dayton, TN and her children; Amber and Ryan, sister-in-law: Nancy Mc Mahon and her husband Joseph Hoffman and her children; Colleen, Erin and Michelle, and two great nieces and 1 great nephew, his favorite Aunts Nancy Blankenship and Judi Latimer of Novi, close friends and brothers at heart Jim and Rob Howard and Jerry Turner.

Steve was preceded in death by his father William James Blankenship.

Pastor Lester Blankenship, age 62 of Lake Orion formerly of Westland, April 20, 2008. Reverend Lester Dwayne Blankenship born to Elmer and Reba Blankenship on July 6th, 1945 and went home to be with the Lord April 20, 2008.

He married his true love Barbara Diana Forbes on July 9, 1964. They had four children who they loved with all their heart Lester Dwayne (Tammy) Blankenship II, Reba Sherie (Michael) Tackett, Sandra kay (Greg) Thompson, and Bryan (Shylah) Blankenship. He also had nine grandchildren, who he loved so much and did everything for; Lester Dwayne Blankenship III, Dylan Thoms Blankenship, Kimberly Lee-Ann Long, Michael Kenneth Tackett, Kendra Kay Thompson, Sophie Diana Thompson, Hayley Marie Blankenship, Shyann Marie Blankenship, and Bryan Philip Blankenship II. Also leaves three sisters Wilma (James) Coleman, Carol (the late Neil) Wyatt, Brenda (Albert) Pace, dear Uncle Dan Blankenship and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed dearly and no one could ever fill his shoes he was just to great of a man. Rev Lester dedicated his life to God and to do His work. He started out as an assistant Pastor to Frank Howard at Plymouth Full Gospel Church, then became Pastor at Adrian Full Gospel, then Pastored at Lighthouse Full Gospel, Pastored at Wyandotte Church of God, and his final Pastor position was at Lake Orion Church of God where he was on the board for the YWEA. He passed doing his calling and what he loved, Preaching the Word. He also was dedicated to the young people. He was Principle at Romulus Christian Academy and Principal at West Wayne Christian Academy. He touched so many lives you can't number the seeds he planted in so many souls. He also loved music and made two Gospel C.D's He played the piano, guitar, and bass. I know he's playin for Jesus right now. Everyone who ever met you Lester loved you. We will miss you always.

Mrs. Blankenship established the Troy Cab Company with her husband Clarence in the 1950's. Originally a taxi service, it evolved into a freight expediting company, with Mrs. Blankenship as one of the first women taxi drivers and served as a truck driver and dispatcher. She loved dolls, animals, gardening and was a friend to everyone in the neighborhood. She was an extraordinary mother, an excellent cook and baked the most wonderful breads and cookies.

Beloved wife of the late Clarence Blankenship Sr. for 50 years. Beloved daughter-in-law of Clara Blankenship. Loving mother of Virginia Poehlman (Fred), Karen, Barbara Weaver, Clarence Jr., Roger (Jennifer), Wendy, and the late Susan Timothy Savage (). Dear grandmother of Brianna Fantozzi, Cameron, Shaun, Clarence III, Jesse Weaver, Alex and Andrew Poehlman.

During the past year in spite of her illness she never lost her sense of humor, she will be remembered as a loving, generous, kind and caring lady.

Aaron L. Blankenship, age 25 years, of Caro, died suddenly on Thursday, August 31, 2006 as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born on September 3, 1980 in Flint and came to Caro when he was eight years of age. He was a Caro High School graduate. Aaron was employed at Wal-Mart as a mechanic. Aaron had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed his friends; but his love was his infant son, Aden Lacey Blankenship and motorcycles. He was a member of the Red Liners Motorcycle Club.

Beside his fiancee, Amanda Roberts, and their baby, Aden, Aaron is survived by his parents, Alvin and Rosemary Blankenship of Cass City; his siblings, Angela (Chad) Dewald of Caro, Laura (Noah) Shiel of Caro, Alvin (Theresa) Blankenship of Caro; his nieces and nephews, Molina, Jada, Angel, Isaac and Trevor; as well as his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Bostrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Indianfields Township Cemetery.

Garland Blankenship, 85 of Hartford, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at South Haven Community Hospital. Garland was born on Dec. 24, 1922, in Portland, Tenn. He was the son of James and Florence (Brown) Blankenship, both of whom preceded him in passing.

Garland was also preceded in passing by his wife, Dorothy, on Jan. 8, 1990; a brother, James Blankenship; two sisters, Nellie and Allie May Beal.

Garland retired from New Products of Benton Harbor in 1984.

Garland is survived by his son, Ricky Blankenship, and a grandson, Jeffrey Blankenship, both of Shelbyville, Ind.; a sister, Lucille Quertermous of Fort Smith, Ark.; two brothers, Robert Blankenship of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Marvin Blankenship of Hot Springs, Ark.

     As to Garland’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services held. His ashes will be interred in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with handling the arrangements.

Eugene R. Roberts, age 67, of Cadillac, Mich., passed away November 1, 2008. He was born November 18, 1940 in Grundy, Va., the son of the late Thurman and Cynthia (Blankenship) Roberts.

He married Lucy M. Daugherty on December 21, 1959 in Virginia, she survives. He is also survived by his three daughters-Teresa Utt of Petosky, Mich., Billie (Chris) Ritzema of Cadillac, Mich., and Michelle Roberts of Cadillac, Mich.; one sister-Jo Ann (David) Bronco of Eureka, Calif.; and five grandchildren-Joshua, Chelsea, and Cody Utt, and Bailey and Cole Ritzema.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-Janet. Mr. Roberts served his country in the United States Navy. He was also employed as an electrician for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn for 32 years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Monticello, Ky.
