age 71, formerly of Lindstrom passed away peacefully surrounded by her family
Dec. 15, 2009. Preceded by her parents, Lloyd and Alma

Survived by her four children, Theresa (Scott) Hamilton, Bobby

Jules M. “JR” Jennen, 67, of rural
Hawley, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, in his home under the care of Hospice of
the Red River Valley. Jules Michael Jennen was born
Nov. 15, 1940, in Fergus Falls, to Jules and Julianne (DeBaere)
Jennen. He attended school and grew to manhood in the
Fergus Falls area graduating from Morris Ag School in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force from
1962 to 1966 working with phone systems and communications. After his honorable
discharge he moved to Moorhead and started Moorhead Electric with his partner
I.A. Rick. They began the business in 1967 and JR was an owner and operated it
until 1980. Jules married Susan Blankenship Lantz on April 19,
1969. They made their home in rural Felton before moving to rural Hawley in
1976. After selling his share of Moorhead Electric, JR and his family raised
cattle and horses on their farm. He also did crop adjusting for several
insurance companies in the area until his retirement in 2004. He continued to
live in rural Hawley until the time of his death. JR was involved in the Cursillo movement in the Catholic Church. He was a member
of the Detroit Lakes Knight of Columbus and served as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Dorothy Day House in Moorhead for several years. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post in
Detroit Lakes. He enjoyed driving his team of horses, horseback riding,
dancing, hunting and playing cards. They wintered in Texas for a number of
years. JR loved people. He reached out to many people from all walks of life
and made the difference in so many lives. He is preceded in death by his
parents, one brother Daniel and two sisters Marianna Gould and Juliet Trumble.
He is survived by his wife Susan; four sons, Michael (Jennifer) of
Mulvane, Kansas, Mark (Angie) of Audubon, Joseph (Christie) of Dent and James
of Moorhead; one daughter, Wendy (Justin) Wagner of Bagley; four grandchildren,
Erin, Danika, Korey and Christelea, three brothers,
Robert (Anita) of Fergus Falls, Richard (Marlys) of
Elbow Lake, and Virgil (Jean) of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister Beverly (Ben) Alm of Mesa, Ariz.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Mary’s of the
Lakes Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. Dobmeier
Funeral Home in Barnesville is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Blackman Blankenship 78, of Willmar,
died Monday [Feb. 19, 2007] at his home following an extended illness. He was
born on Jan. 6, 1929, in Paris, Texas, to John and Elizabeth (Pearson) Blankenship.
He grew up in Henderson, Texas, where he
attended elementary schooling. The family later moved to Big Sandy, Texas,
where he graduated from high school in 1946. He served in the U.S. Air Force
from 1946 to 1949. He continued his education at Stephen F. Austin College,
Nacogdoches, Texas, graduating in 1953 with a bachelor's degree and in 1954
with a master's degree in education.
On Jan. 5, 1952, he married Clytell Howard at Big Sandy, Texas. Following their
marriage they lived in Nacogdoches, Riesel, and Gladewater, Texas, before
moving to Hobbs, NM. He taught elementary school and was the high school
counselor for Hobbs Municipal Schools for 34 years, retiring in 1988. Following
his retirement he served as manager for Hobbs School Computer Labs for 10
years. They moved to Willmar in 2003. He was a member of National Education
Association and the U.S. Bowling Congress.
He was preceded in death by one sister,
one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife; children, A.
Lane Brown of Mammoth, Ariz., and A. Elaine (and Jimmy) Widner
of Willmar; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandson; brothers, Jack Blankenship of Longview,
Texas, and Gene (and Patsy) Blankenship of Plano, Texas; sister, Tommylu Strickland of
Longview.
The service will be at 2 pm, Saturday, at
Harvey Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.

to Vernon G. Ferguson on Nov. 5, 1945, at Austin. She enjoyed sewing and was an
avid quilter.

Ferguson, Austin; daughters and son-in-law, Winnie and Ben Goette,
Albert Lea, Sarah Ferguson, Austin; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren;

Graham, Wash.; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her
