B. and Mary Blankenship, aged respectively two years and nine months and eleven months and twelve days, died of diphtheria December 16 and December 18, 1878. "God often thus afflicts his children, but in mercy he does this. His providences though may seem severe and hard to be borne, but are often blessings in disguise. Remember, dear parents that he cannot err; all he does is right. These little ones did not suffer long before he took them to himself. While gazing upon these sweet little sleepers, lying in their neat little coffins, side by side in the same grave, I said in my heart; Gone together, how I should love to be here to see you come together to take on this dust again, and go to be forever with the Lord".           Thos.
