Jim Blankenship,
94, retired 13-year mechanic at Mitchell Buick-Pontiac, died Wednesday
(27Jun1990) at his home after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home with burial in
Greenwood Cemetery.
He was a native of the Big Springs community in Clay County. Blankenship , the husband of Kate D. Blankenship , also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Katherine B. Hill of Chattanooga, Mrs. Doris D.
Hudson of West Point and Mrs. Betty
D. Price of Starkville; two
sisters, Mrs. Eunice B. Benson of Cedar Bluff and Mrs. Mary B. Murphy of West Point; a brother, Tom Blankenship of Houston, Texas, seven grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary Landin Blankenship, age 73 of West
Point, died Wednesday, January 31, 1991 at the Okolona Community Hospital, [Chickasaw
Co., MS]. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in West Point
and a retired teacher with 30 years of service to the West Point Public School Sysytem. She was the widow
of Murry Blankenship.
Services were held Friday, February 1, at
Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. W. D. Pigott,
officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles
Whitehead, Joe Taggart, Bobby Speed, Jimmy Woods, Tommy Reynolds, Doyle Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Jordan, Dean
Stevens, Ashley Stevens,Conley
Cox, and Paul Judge.
Survivors include one son, Murry Blankenship, Sr. of Okolona; two daughters, Peggy B. Spell of West
Point and Dot B. Long of Pearl; three sisters, Alma L. Reid of Gattman,Catherine Steger of
Chalmette, LA. and Jennie Cantrell of West Point; six grandchildren, Robert Ward Spell, Jr. of Kent, Ohio, Teresa Spell
of West Point, Lindsey Long, of Pearl, Murry Blankenship, Jr. of Jackson, Leigh Hunter

Lt. Col. Wyndham G. Mortimer, 77, of Biloxi, Mississippi, died
Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Gulf Coast Medical Center.
Col. Mortimer was a native of Dayton, Ohio, and retired from the
Air Force in 1969, having a total of nine years enlisted and 21 years
commissioned service. He was decorated several times in the course of his
service during WW II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Retired
Officers Association, the Air Force Association, and was a member of the MS
Coast Amateur Radio Association. He and his wife have resided in Biloxi since
1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel E. and L. Florence
Mortimer; his first wife, Addine Davis Helms
Mortimer; and two younger policeman brothers, Det. Sgt. William K. Mortimer and
Sgt. Paul E. Mortimer.
Survivors include his wife, Gretchen P. Mortimer, formerly of New
Orleans; a son, Thomas R. Mortimer and his wife, Leslie N. of Richmond, Calif.;
two brothers, David C. Mortimer of Grass Lake, Mich., and Thomas R. Mortimer of
Hillsboro, Ohio; two sisters, Betty
J. Blankenship of Xenia, Ohio,
and Phyllis J. Grisso of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a
granddaughter, Jamie Mojcher; many nieces and
nephews, especially James B. Pittenger, Yvonne and
Roger Cappe and Jamie' Pittenger.
Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A procession will leave the funeral home
at 9:30 a.m. Monday for a 10 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Fatima. Burial will be in
Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.

Ruby Virginia Blankenship Cook, 80, Jackson, Miss., a native of Neosho,

Cook was born May 19, 1916, in Neosho.
She attended high school in Joplin. She moved to Jackson in 1954
from Los Angeles. She was a medical secretary for several years at the
University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson. She
was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Greg Cook, Jackson; two daughters, Barbara
Martin, Jackson, and Debbie Bosarge, Vicksburg,

Becky Welch Blankenship went to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 11, 1998, in Florence,
Miss., after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Blankenship
was born July 26, 1971, in Gulfport, Miss., and had been a resident of Saucier
for 16 years. She attended Harrison Central High School.
She was preceded in death by her father, Theo Welch Jr.; her son, Trey Blankenship; and her maternal grandparents, Grace
Seymour Parse and Herbert Parse.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Blankenship;
three daughters, Ashley, Krystal and Shelby Blankenship; two brothers, Theo Welch III and Joey
Mason; two sisters, Vicky Philpot and Jennifer Mason; two nieces, Cecelia and
Chelsey Philpot; and many caring friends.
Becky chose to be
cremated and asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to St. Jude's
Children Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale Street, Memphis, TN 38105.
