Graveside services for Roy Lee Tharp, 70, of Natchez, who died
Friday, March 12, 2004 at Natchez Community Hospital, will be today at 10 a.m.
at Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Stiles
officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery, under the direction of
Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Tharp was born Feb. 5, 1934 in Louisiana, the son of Henry and
Julia H. Tharp. He retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company. He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gloria "Dobie" Tharp and
a daughter, Julia Ann Tharp.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Stephanie Jo Ann Tharp of
Natchez; one grandson, Jimmie Patrick Knight Jr. of Natchez; four sisters, Joy Blankenship of Arkansas, Alice Faye Adams of Idaho, Mary Kay Pullack of Michigan and Betty Lou Lee of Texas; two
brothers, Charles Fletcher of Arkansas and Jimmy Fletcher of Texas.
Honorary pallbearers include Lehman Jones, Doyle Breland, Chris Saucier, Max Sturdivant, Leonard McManus and
Chris Sturdivant.

Services for Genevieve
Blankenship Junkin, 91, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Natchez
Regional Medical Center, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with
the Rev. David O'Connor officiating. Burial will be at Natchez City
Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Junkin was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Crossett, Ark. She was educated
in public schools in Bastrop, La., and began working as a secretary for F.
Strauss & Sons in Monroe, La. In 1940, she moved to Natchez, where she
served as secretary to the commandant at Jefferson Military College in
Washington. Later, as owner of Southern Hospitality Service and founder of the
Natchez Newcomers Club, she greeted newcomers to Natchez until her death. She
was a member of the Natchez Garden Club and served on the Ball Committee and
was a member of the Tuesday Ferriday Duplicate Bridge Club and the Friday
Castle Bridge Club.
Mrs. Junkin was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Eugene Blankenship and Martha Alma Easterling Blankenship; her husband, William J. Junkin; and stepsons William J. Junkin
Jr. and George M. Junkin.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Richard Smith and wife Virginia;
her daughter, Martha Genevieve Junkin Seibert and
husband J.W. Seibert; her grandson, William Colin Seibert and wife Renee; her
granddaughter, Yancey Seibert; and her stepchildren, Mary Junkin,
D.C., Margaret Junkin, D.C., Edwina Junkin Blanchard and husband Eugene Roderick Blanchard III,
and their children.

Mary Ann Loyd, 75, of Natchez, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at her
residence. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 26, at 1 p.m. at Laird
Funeral Home South Chapel on John R. Junkin Drive
with Dr. Edgar Wright officiating, with interment to be in Greenlawn
Memorial Cemetery.
She was born March 22, 1930, in Cleveland, the daughter of Oscar Thomas Blankenship and Inez Forbess Blankenship. Her greatest trait was the love she had for her
family, which was the joy of her life. She was preceded in death by her
parents.
She is survived by her husband, William T. Loyd;
three sons, Tommy Loyd and his wife, Charlene, both
of Magee, and Buddy Loyd and Jimmy Loyd and his wife, Becky, all of Natchez; two daughters,
Allison Loyd Monarch and her husband, Patrick, both
of Shreveport, La., and Ruth Ann Loyd Heard and her
husband, Steven, both of Natchez; 10 grandchildren, Becky Loyd,
Stacy Dodd, Daniel Loyd, Nathan Loyd,
Jacob Monarch, Madeline Monarch, Caroline Monarch, Abigail Monarch, Christopher
Heard and Allie Heard; one great-granddaughter, Emily Dodd; one sister, Margie Bryan
of Desloge, Mo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Loyd, Nathan Loyd, Patrick Monarch, Steven Heard, Ben Dodd and Josh

Mr. Farmer was born March 15, 1939, in Skene, the son of Herman
Herbert Farmer and Loventrice
Blankenship Farmer. He was a
lifelong member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Farmer retired from a life of
construction in the Miss-Lou area. He was a devoted father, uncle and friend,
but had no greater joy than that of an extraordinary grandfather. His passion
for following his grandchildren in golf and baseball was only surpassed by his
love for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara P. Farmer;
and two brothers, Roy Farmer Sr. and Herbert Farmer Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Henry K. Farmer Jr. and wife, Marla,
and Gary Farmer and wife, Liz, all of Natchez; four grandchildren, Jordan B.
Farmer, Madison A. Farmer, Trevor W. Farmer and Brock D. Farmer; three sisters,
Carole Foster, Frances Davis and Lance Holmes; brothers, Ray Farmer and Allen Farmer;
a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and many
lifelong friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Davis, William Davis, Billy Ray Farmer,
Roy Farmer Jr., Ken Price, David White and Johnathan Foster. Honorary

Mrs. Rodgers was

moved to Skene, where she married Brody Edward Rodgers in the early 1930s. They
lived in Natchez for 20 years and moved back to Cleveland in 1970. She was a
housewife and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland.
Mrs. Rodgers was
preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors
include a number of nieces and nephews.

Claude Leo Chuck Blankenship, 76, died Sept.
12, 2008 at Trace RegionalHospital- Houston. He was
born Jan. 17, 1932, to the late Claude Eckford Blankenship and Lucy Lee Ruffin
Blankenship in Starkville.
Mr. Blankenship was a resident of
Aberdeen for 42 years before moving to Houston. He was employed in the garment
industry at Lewis Sales Company for 30 years. He was a member of the First
Christian Church of Water Valley.
In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his first wife,
Bee
Lowery Blankenship; daughter, Debbie Kelso; and sister, Joy Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sager Blankenship of Watervalley; daughter,
Beverly Malone of
Hamilton; stepson, Kevin Herrera of Watervalley; sister, Sandra Boyce of
Houston; brother, Don Blankenship; four
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

2, 1945, in West Point. He was the son of the late Rivers Caradine
and Jesse Blankenship Sr.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Big Buck Hunting Club.
He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, nature, hunting and fishing.

Survived by daughter, Carol Ann Whalen; grandsons, Tristan and Trevor; brother, Albert Blankenship; and sister, Bonnie Patton. Preceded in death by brothers, Alvin Blankenship and Johnny Blankenship; and sister, Butaw Middleton. Grew up on a farm near Lexington and entered
Army in 1944 and served in Europe during WWII. After War, he worked as a heavy

Charles Melvin Blankenship August 31, 1931 - December 9, 2004.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7pm at Chancellor Funeral
Home in Byram and again Saturday from
1 until service time at 2pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral
home chapel in Byram with burial in Raymond City
Cemetery.
Mr. Blankendship was born in Myrtlewood,
[Marengo Co.,]
Al in 1931. After his graduation from Mississippi College in 1954, he served in
the U.S. Army for 2 years then went to work at Keesler Air Force Base in
Biloxi, where he was Chief of Audio-Visual Services and retired in 1987 after
30 years. Most of his work career was spent at Keesler except for a 3-year tour
of duty in Germany. While in Biloxi, Mr.
Blankenship was a faithful member of Bay Vista Baptist Church, serving
as deacon and member of the choir and Men''s Brotherhood.
After moving to Raymond, he became affilitated with
Country Woods Baptist Church in Byram. Mr. Blankenship will always be remembered by his family
and friends as a caring person, who was ready and willing to help anyone in
need.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Melba Blankenship, of Raymond; his daughters: Karen Googe and husband Robbie, of Madison,
and Amy Blankenship and husband Stephen Howard, of Gulfport;
his brother, David Blankenship. of Wagarville,
AL; his sisters: June Flowers, of Wagerville,
AL, Janet Overstreet, of Gainstown,
AL, Glenda Shelby, of Mobile, AL, and Anna Younge Jones, of Hobson, AL; and one
granddaughter, Jessica Googe.
Mr. Blankenship is

died Friday, May 28, 2004 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a
Pentecostal Holiness minister for 40 years and a pastor at Glad Tidings Church
for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Miller Miles of Meridian;
daughters Debbie Wells and her husband Olen of Washington, Okla., Sandi Fuller
and her husband David of Marion, and Kim Smith and her husband Sonny of
Meridian; a sister Sybil Martin and her husband Bobby of Meridian; brothers
Wade Miles and his wife Dale and Richard Miles and his wife Jackie, all of
Meridian; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.H. and Opal Miles; a daughter Pamela
Joyce Miles and a sister Shirley Lafferty.

James Thomas Reed, 59, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at The North Mississippi
Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Tennessee, he was born
July 17, 1948 to Lillie Belle Allbritton Reed and the
late I. M. Reed. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He worked as a
truck driver after his discharge from the Army.
Graveside services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery south
of Plantersville with Pastor Jay Jones officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral
Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends will serve as
pallbearers.
Survivors include his mother, Lillie Belle Reed of Auburn; one daughter, Paige Blankenship and husband,
Dewayne, of Columbus; four sons, James Reed-Wood
and wife, Gina, Randall Reed-Wood, David Reed-Wood, all of Columbus, and

Herbert Glen "Buddy" Monaghan, 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 15,
2009, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. He was born Jan. 7, 1928, in
Monroe County to Daniel Tripp "Cooter" Monaghan and Mattie Lou Ivy
Monaghan. He turned down a scholarship to play football at Ole Miss and joined
the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged, receiving
citations and medals for his bravery and courage. He was a Bible-centered
preacher for over 50 years and was founder of the Independent Church of The
Lord Jesus Christ, south of Nettleton, where he pastored much of his life. He
loved the Lord and loved preaching the gospel. He was an old-style musician who
often sang during his sermons. He greatly admired and supported the City of
Nettleton and had served as an alderman and Chief of Police in Nettleton. He
was a patriotic American completely devoted to his family, his church, his God
and his community.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Signet of Honour Church on Hwy. 6 in Nettleton with the Rev. Ricky
Pierce and the Rev. Billy McBunch officiating. Steve
Holland will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Holland Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Audeen
Taylor Monaghan of Nettleton, whom he married June 17, 1946; four sons, Larry
Monaghan (Nancy) and Gary Monaghan (Pam) of Nettleton,. Dan Monaghan (Leslie)
of Saltillo and Joe McCommon (Jennifer) of Amory; two
daughters, Regina Blankenship (Jimmy) of Amory and Dera Carter (Roger) of
Smithville; nine grandchildren, Glen Blankenship, J.J. Blankenship, Abbi Dykes, Joe Monaghan, Nick Carter,
Tiffany Johnson, Dana Monaghan, Ben Monaghan and Drew Monaghan; six

Dykes, Kirby Blankenship and Ashton Johnson; one sister, Ruth
