William Anderson is the son of William and Angeline Blankenship nee Parks was born near Leslie Franklin county, Mo. on August 12, 1860, and departed this life on March 26, 1938 at the Lincoln General Hospital aged seventy - seven years, seven months, and fourteen days.  His early life was spent in Missouri at the home of his parents. He came to Seward about fourty years ago where he established a home and business. In September 1, 1902, he was united in holy wedlock to Mrs. Wilhelmina Wullenwaber of Seward. Twenty years ago he entered into the grocery business which he has operated successfully ever since. He was a man devoted to his family and friends, fair in his business relations, and one who held the welfare of his fellow-men alongside his own.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife, three brothers, Andrew of Norwood, Mo, Leslie of Seward, and Charles of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and one sister Mrs. Letha Renick of Liberal, Kansas, four nieces and seven nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 30th at 2:00 p.m. Chain & Wood undertakers. The song service was in charge of Mrs. Vera Luhe and Mr. Ernest Tempel. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. BVB 29 Aug 1938 NEBRASKA

Mar. 19 1938 Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o"clock at the home in Seward, for W. A. Blankenship 77 prominent Seward groceryman, who died at a Lincoln hospital last Saturday. Mr. Blankenship has been a resident of Seward for the past 40 years. For the past 20 years he has been in the grocery business, with his store located on the corner where the Iowa-Nebraska Light and Power company offices now stand; then in the Feary building, and more recently in its present location in the Hershberger building.
